1582 Vestor Citizen Engagement Opportunity |

Esteemed citizens, the historic occasion of a potential MT0 election has presented itself. Once thought to only be a theoretical quirk of the Interior Wastes, expert MANINTER science teams have recently confirmed the possibility for one Mandate citizen to rise above the MT1 Council as an Esteemed MT0. Esteemed MT1 Humblos currently stands as the first aspirant to this position. Although the Mandate does not condone elections or democracy, it would like all citizens to feel included in the decision making process without partaking in the decision making.
The vote stands:
"Should MT1 Humblos be uptiered to the new and untested tier of MT0?"
Options:
-Yes (Emphatic)
-Yes
-Yes (Embattled)

I have spoken with lynis and others about this, but don't have anything terribly formal yet. I made this map briefly to describe the ethnic/cultural breakdown of Harmajaa, Sappa, and Balochia (or what was once known as Duran).
As you can see, large saamojedic population in Balochia. This is like karjelinn as well, where a large saami population is basically second class citizens, though in Balochia it's much more extreme. I'm not totally sure yet, but maybe something like South Africa even? Idk...
The OOC intentions of this campaign experience are as follows:
- Do legitimate roleplay in a region that has been almost completely sleepy thus far.
- Eliminate the weird "sappa" state that is basically a less unified Harmajaan state.
- Fix "The Duran Problem"
- Adjust the northern border of Severyane so it is more appealing
I do not have much decided on the Baloch people (they refer to themselves as Boloch and their nation is Bolochyya) I'd like to ask hahk or jam to see how these people can fit into things.
Jam, Hahk, other vostic folks, let me know whats up in this region so we can work on a storyline etc.
I'm open to any all ideas that can solve the above problems.

Moderate Party
The Moderate Party has lead the Empire for the last two decades, in a coalition with the Green and Liberal Parties. They are moderately conservative socially though lean left economically. They support a strong military, though are generally against foreign intervention. They prefer a multilateral and cooperative approach to international relations and support free trade.
Its has no charismatic leader after Bernard Sandlund resigned over controversy about his divorce and general ISP-lead public discord.
Green Party
The Green Party is very mixed across the board and is primarily held together by everyone's environmental beliefs. They support environment-friendly policies and regulations, and a moderate military. They generally follow the foreign policy of whatever larger party they're in a coalition with, though do support free trade in order to compensate for economic setbacks from increased regulations.
Ulrik Grubber, the Green Party leader until 1582, was forced to resign over allegations of hiring Sainamese prostitutes.
Liberal Party
The Liberal Party leans left on all counts. They advocate more protections for minorities and a loosening of Imperial immigration policies. They support a strong military and have a flexible foreign policy.
They have been growing restless with Moderate policies and may pair with another party instead.
Social Democratic Party
The Social Democratic Party is the rival of the Moderate Party. They support deregulation of industries, increased spending on social programs, and a strong military. They are non-interventionist, support free trade, and prefer a multilateral approach to international situations.
They have had weak leadership for the last decade.
Imperial Sentric Party
The Imperial Party is a recent rising star, and is perhaps a reaction to the moderate governments that have dominated the HLE for the last several decades. They are firmly conservative socially and economically, though do support some welfare programs. They believe the empire needs a strong military and the will to use it, with or without multinational efforts. They are anti-immigration and protectionist, though do feel the empire should maintain a good relationship with other "strong" states.
They are lead by the charismatic Alfred Aria Sulkholm, a known misogynist.

Quartyr 1520
A man walked down a crowded street in Nalkop, the capital city of the Mazaghean Socialist Republic. Like everyone else, he wore a thick overcoat and stuffed his gloved hands into its pockets, trying to hold on to whatever warmth remained in his body. Snow fell and wind blew harshly. There were no warm greetings of friends, neighbors, or coworkers in the street, as everyone kept their eyes downcast to the path directly in front of them, taking the quickest route possible to their destination. This was no time for anything warm and friendly, and it was more than the weather which brought about such a state. War was brewing. The man could smell it on the air, and he knew what it smelled like. He was a natural soldier, a Mazaghe warrior born to the wrong time, he liked to think. He liked to think that he would have been more suited for those old days when the Mazaghes answered to no one but themselves. With dagger in one hand and flintlock in the other, he would have defended his homeland before it ever even knew the feeling of oppression.
The man buried his face deeper into his big fur collar. Now was not the time to fantasize. He turned down a side alley, away from the street, and was suddenly alone. Walking farther into the alley, he could hear, above the wind, his footsteps echo off the walls. Turning a corner, he could see three ruffians huddling together and smoking cigarettes. The man furrowed his brow. He had thought that even the criminal element would not risk freezing to death on the off-chance of mugging some bastard who was just as poor as they were. One of the ruffians spotted him and said something to the other two, and all three started his way. The man’s pace never changed, and he kept walking straight forward down the middle of the alleyway, as if he didn’t even notice the ruffians walking to intercept him. Inside his coat, however, his hand gripped a small pistol. It was dangerous to go about armed for fear of arrest. If the local police caught him, he might be able to bribe or persuade his way out. If the secret police got a whiff, however, he’d be in trouble. Despite the risk, the man would not dream of going out without a weapon on him. What use is a weaponless soldier? One of the ruffians lifted up his coat with one hand and reached inside with the other. The man tensed and within a second he would pull out his pistol. Just then, a door just down the alley swung open and the alley was bathed in yellow light.
“Stop! He is good,” said a voice from within. The three ruffians jerked to a stop, the one that was reaching for something pulled his hand out of his coat, empty, and they all went back to their original position. The man gratefully went through the open door. Inside was a small room with a table and a few chairs. Several men sat or stood around smoking or drinking. They were warmed and given light by a fire in the fireplace. The man that was standing closest to the door greeted the newcomer once the door was closed, “Hatal, my friend! It is good to see you. I hope you are in fine health.” The two men embraced.
“Tiguan, comrade,” Hatal said.
“Please, come and warm yourself.” Tiguan gave Hatal a glass of alcohol, let him light up a cigarette, and sit by the fire. “Allow me to introduce you, so that you may know who all is here. Of course you know Berasby.” Hatal nodded. Berasby Manshak was Nolkop’s deputy police commander, a longtime ally. “Guka Hebizhov from the transportation commissariate. You know Sergey.” Hatal shook each of their hands as they were introduced. These were men with influence and power. They were a few of the foundation stones of the movement.
There was one last man. “Miza has traveled all the way from Zarka to bring us news from Kubaniza,” Tiguan explained. Zarka was on the Kubanizan-Mazaghean border. With that, Miza had the floor as the others watched him, silently smoking.
“It is good news,” he began. “You all know that Gregor’s purges wreaked havoc in the army, but in Kubaniza it is showing its full effects. Kubanizan militias have begun to strike against the Red Army, and there are many good results. My contact has told me that last month, over five thousand weapons were stolen from various armories and arms factories throughout the republic. There is word that similar raids have taken place in Calgarov and Balochia.”
Hatal grinned. “It is as I had hoped. Our neighbors have decided to throw off the yoke of Communist Severyan oppression. Now it is time that we did our part.” He turned to Sergey. “What is the feeling in the Supreme Council?”
Sergey was a political insider. He was deeply entrenched in the inner circles of Mazaghea’s government. Like everyone at this meeting, he was taking an extreme risk. If the MGB were to become suspicious, it could be the end of them all. They had taken many precautions, of course, but the thought of the MGB kicking in the door and arresting them all was always at the back of one’s mind. “Not favorable,” Sergey said plainly. “The Supreme Council is filled with timidity and cowardice. Even after the purges and the suspension of the Kubanizan, Calgarovan, and Balochian governments, they believe that the worst has passed. They do not understand that Gregor Perov will not stop and cannot be stopped through normal means. They have a naive hope that the Party will force a return to normalcy.”
Tiguan shook his head in disgust. “These fools have no right to call themselves Mazaghes.”
“We can expect no less. No man finds himself on the Supreme Council without being beholden to Severograd through blackmail, bribery, or even genuine loyalty.”
“There are a few on the Council that secretly sympathize with the rebels. A few more waver in their loyalty. The Unionists still retain an iron grip on the Council, however, and that seems unlikely to change for now,” Sergey said.
“We have no other option, then, than to continue our preparations,” Tiguan said. “How have your ‘recruitment drives’ been faring, Hatal?”
“Very well. I have now almost a thousand men in the vicinity of the city ready to take up arms when I give the call. Thanks to Guka’s cooperation, we have been able to equip them all with adequate arms and ammunition. Within six months–”
Just then, one of the ruffians from outside burst in. “We have to move,” he said.
“What?” Tiguan asked, surprised.
“There’s a police patrol headed this way,” the ruffian explained.
Everyone looked at Berasby. “There should be none,” he said. “I made sure of it. There are no patrols in this neighborhood.”
“There is one now, anyway,” Hatal said. “Leave now. We will meet again at the next scheduled rendezvous.”
Tiguan went over to a different door than the one Hatal had entered through. “This way.” All of them stood up and hurried out, quickly disappearing into the city.

Halvadag, Lanlania, HLE
Sunday, 8 Nueva 1682
"Our empire is in decline.
"Our prestige is in decline.
"Our military primacy, historically absolute and overwhelming, is in decline.
"Each year, our industrial and economic lead on other nation diminishes and our sphere of influence that once spanned the globe in imperium is encroached upon and assaulted by mewing upstarts. Their armies and naval forces bolster while ours flounder in decay as the Moderate and Social Democratic establishment twiddle their thumbs, content to revel in the memory of our gone eminence.
"NO MORE. I repeat: No. More!"
"No more!" The crowd roared in reply. "No more, no more, no more, no more!"
Alfred Aria Sulkholm, Leader of the Imperial Sentric Party, waited. There was a solemn look on his face as the watched the people electrify. As their chants began to faltered, he was quick to seize the moment and continue his speech. "Ladies and gentlemen, I say, it is high time that we end the six decades of decadent Moderate and Social Democratic rule. For too long they and their ilk have eroded the very fiber of Holy Lanlanian society, undermining our Messanic values and chipping away at the Crown.
They did nothing as our friends and allies in Galeae, Veinland, Oslanburg, Soyabar, Lochland, Akitsu, Kaljurand were besieged and overthrown by degenerate forces. They did nothing as our brothers in Ashford were bullied—and continue to be bullied—by the Carpathian rats. They did nothing when our cousins in Myramark were invaded by communists forces. They are watching, wide-eyed, as separatist forces fracture our empire, as the Akhadist plague infests our serene suburbs, bringing with them violence and wickedness. They turn their heads as the homosexuals corrupt the mind and bodies of our children, as uncultured swines steal our jobs, rape our daughters, assault our mothers, and spread their vile depravity.
"Unacceptable!"
"Unacceptable!" the crowd chanted. "Unacceptable! Unacceptable! Unacceptable!"
"Two weeks from now," Sulkholm began.
"No more, no more, no more!"
"Two weeks from now," he repeated as the crowd soothed, "we must remove the the Moderate and Social Democratic degenerates from power, who through inaction and pissant governance have lead the empire into a new dark age. Vote Imperial Sentric! Vote for the Empire! Vote for yourself!"
The People cheered.

I expanded Akhadism main wiki article as a reference for RP. Of course, it is open to suggestions, specially if any of your nations (or NPCs) are quoted or mentioned in the article and you had further ideas about or proposals of change.
I would like to add some demographical data, so if you don't mind, it would be helpful if you can fill the following template:
Code:
Nation:
Akhadic population in your country: (either total number or % of the population)
Akhadic denominations: (Read this as reference. - you can leave it blank in case you don't care about it

Bakh'a denomination:(% of total Akhadic believers)

Zokukyar denomination: (% of total Akhadic believers)

Non-denominational / Others:(% of total Akhadic believers)
Expanding Country: Kubaniza
EC.'s Government Type: Provisional government consisting of elected delegates. The provisional government has given extensive authority to military leaders for the purpose of ensuring the security and stability of the country while in transition. Kubanizan military forces consist of a coalition of khorobri (militia/paramilitary/irregular/volunteer) units called the United Khorobri Forces under the leadership of Vasily Bukanko. Within the United Khorobri Forces there may be smaller coalitions led by other powerful commanders, such as in this case. Although the Kubanizan forces have been rapidly organizing and professionalizing over the years (the war necessitated this), it is still, at its core, an army of volunteers who often elect their own leaders.
Campaign Setting: 1525, only a few months after the end of the Winter War, which was a civil war in the Union of Socialist Republics which resulted in Kubaniza, Duran, Calgarov, and [if submission is accepted] Mazaghea.
Campaign Goal: Mazaghea will be located in this region.
Informational Links: Winter War wiki page. The Winter War page is currently in the process of being revised.
When did you last have an Expansion? Not since Caprecia.
When was the Expanding Country's last military conflict? Only a few months before.
Why do you seek to expand? ICly, this would primarily be a power grab by an individual Kubanizan military commander, with ideological (anti-communist), geopolitical (does not want a weak neighbor that is vulnerable to communist or Union influence, plus the usual "more land and resources"), and personal (renown, prestige, and authority would be increased significantly) motivations. This commander's actions will be supported by the higher authority, in the form of Vasily Bukanko, who is the highest military authority and currently the most powerful man in Kubaniza, primarily for geopolitical reasons. Bukanko wishes to increase Kubaniza's power and remove a potential thorn in the side of the country.
OOCly, Kubaniza is very isolated, and I have not done much of anything with it so far. I want to do some RP with Kubaniza, while also creating some interesting history for both Kubaniza and the region, which also has tangible results for my country.
Campaign Plot
Following the signing of the Bukanya Accords, the newly independent Republic of Mazaghea is incredibly unstable. Hatal Sovinov's position as leader of the Mazaghe nation is not as sure as it seemed only a year before, for as Sovinov was an admired war leader, now that peace has arrived he has had trouble finding his footing. In Ochtyr 1525, only a few months after the end of the war, Abaty Shapsug, a former Communist official, through deft political maneuvering, manages to get himself appointed the chairman of the National Governing Committee (also called the National Committee), Mazaghea's provisional government.
Although Shapsug denies being a communist and publicly supports Mazaghe nationalism, he is believed to have Union sympathies by Sovinov and his supporters for his actions prior to and during the Winter War. Leonid Sverbylo, a powerful khorobri (militia/paramilitary) commander of the famed horyany, the mountain men, a zealous anti-communist, offers his support to Sovinov to remove the "communist Union sympathizer," asserting that it is vital to Mazaghea's continued independence.
By the end of the month, Sovinov has accepted Sverbylo's offer of support, and in Nueva, with Sovinov's help, Sverbylo sends troops across the border and straight towards the Mazaghean capital. Fights happen. Eventually , Sverbylo declares Mazaghea's annexation by Kubaniza, with the support of Vasily Bukanko and his United Khorobri Forces (the coalition of khorobri forces which was the principle Kubanizan fighting force during the Winter War). Sverbylo's justification is that he is protecting the Mazaghe and the small Kubanizan minority in Mazaghea from communist subjugation.
Sovinov, a Mazaghe nationalist, does not want his outcome and feels betrayed by the Kubanizans. He joins with Shapsug and/or his supporters and fights against the Kubanizans.
My desired outcome is that the Mazagheans are defeated due to the Kubanizans' superior experience and equipment, as well as the influx of reinforcements from Kubaniza itself. The Kubanizans may also be able to count on some aid from local Mazaghean Kubanizans and other Mazaghean sympathizers.
Potential for Other Player Involvement
Although the Union (at this point consisting of Hahk, Ark, and Nents) is prevented by treaty from interfering directly in the conflict, they may decide to intervene through other means. Videjzeme may also decide to intervene, even with direct military action if they so choose. Others in the Marzanna region or Near East may decide to get involved one way or another (sending volunteers, engaging in diplomacy, etc.)
This is my OOC thread for my Kubaniza expansion. I'll probably call it "Mazaghean Woes" or something that sounds equally superficially meaningful.
I'll be making the first post at some point within a week, probably. I think I'm going to start out with a bit of backstory-esque posts, showing how the current situation in Mazaghea came to be.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will post any relevant information here, as well.
