Penal Brigades for Sale and Lease
Posted by: STRATCOM - 02-12-2017, 02:20 AM - Forum: Marketplace - Replies (9)

Esteemed nations, in a spirit of international cooperation, defense, and commerce, CT1/MT1 leadership is pleased to announce the expansion of the penal brigade service to the international community. Penal brigades can be a cost-effective, rapidly deployed supplement to national military forces, especially for campaigns with heavy casualties or guerrilla warfare predicted.

In an additional spirit of additional cooperation, the first nation to apply for penal brigade ownership will have all fees and costs waived.

Host nations: Penal brigades are mechanized infantry brigades consisting of six 600-man light infantry battalions, one support and logistics battalion, and one transport battalion. Penal brigadiers are excellent shock troops, human wave participants, distractionary forces, and forces to cover retreats, and the Vestor Licit People's Mandate Armed Forces covers all transport and resupply duties free of charge for the host nation. Fees and terms can be discussed after the following document MSD-140 is completed by the intended host nation:

Code:
[b]Application for Penal Brigade Sale or Lease, International[/b]
[i]Document MSD-140, Penal Brigades, Applications for[/i]

[u]To be completed by the host nation[/u]

[b]Please select the best description of the intended theatre[/b]
[  ] Grueling combat and hellish terrain
[  ] Hellish combat and grueling terrain
[  ] Hellish combat and hellish terrain (Penal reinforcement fees may apply)

[b]Please check any penal auxiliary forces required in-theatre[/b]
[  ] Penal mine-clearing company
[  ] Penal engineering company
[  ] Penal training company (OPFOR for live-fire drills)

[b]Please check any Special Ethnic Groupings required in-theatre[/b]
[  ] Elanii Penal Force (Total Attrition allowed)
[  ] Warhin Penal Force (Half Unspecified Attrition Allowed)
[  ] Rhor Penal force (Half Unspecified Attrition Allowed)

Human rights advocates: Penal brigadiers are citizens of the lowest tier (CT/MT13) who have been demoted there for Minor Treason, gross incompetence resulting in loss of life, and other fatal crimes. Each of them has caused the deaths of others and deserve no remorse. They have elected of their own free will to forego typical MT13 high-attrition duties such as Fuel Duty, Tetranetazine Loading/Unloading, and Experimental Treatment Subject in exchange for a tour of duty in a penal brigade. All surviving penal brigadiers receive uptiering to MT9 and cessation of all MT13 high-attrition duties upon the completion of a one-year tour of duty in a heavy combat zone*, as well as third-degree hazard pay.

*To qualify as heavy combat zone service, penal brigadiers may not:
  • Ask for or accept asylum in the host nation or any other nation
  • Ask for or accept monetary, medical, or material aid from the host nation or any other nation
  • Ask for or accept evacuation or support when the brigade commanding officer has not authorized such
  • Ask for or accept lower-risk orders than the host nation has originally given
  • Suffer less than thirty percent casualties in his or her battalion during the tour of duty

Name of Technology/Object: Airdropped Automated Fortification Construction System

[2] - "Rapid Deployment Concertina Wire" Military Training Pamphlet Number 218. 1939.

Report

Description:
The Vestor Licit People's Mandate uses a wide variety of airdropped stratagems in combat situations to augment ground force fighting capacity, in both offensive and defensive roles. The newest exciting development in this field is the use of self-righting and self-assembling structures, capable of surviving the drop from the standard cruising altitude of a VA600 Kelyor HLV or VA460 Katura. Upon descent, the device is slowed and stabilised by quick-burn disposable rocket motors or standard synthetic parachute. [1]

The most commonly requested and deployed Autofortification is the Rapid Razor-Wire Protocol. At the discretion of a CT9 squad leader, a soldier may place a request to the National Tactical Command Mobile Asset Deployment Department via the use of a mobile Telex system. The local air deployment brigade will then release the requested protocol, from a height where it can be guided down with the intense precision and accuracy required. The majority of the protocols do not arrest the downward velocity of the system entirely, as they employ automated anchoring systems to secure the terrain.

In the case of the Rapid Razor Protocol, the device will unfold into a long strip (depending on type this can be 10m, 20m, 50m, and 100m) whereupon the spools of Grade 7 Razor Wire will lengthen upon the base and produce a barrier hazardous to infantry health. Other Protocols include, but are not limited too, Mobile Resupply (both kinds), VOX Drop, Automated Mass Deservicing, and many more.

Horray! I know no one else here plays, but I don't care, because I made a video! No, not the one in the old thread, a new one!

And it has terrible voice acting! Huzzah!

I tried to give my voice that stereotypically extra annoying nasally thing announcers do. I think I was partially successful...but other than that, the acting is shit, but I can't be fucked to do a third take to make it suck less. Flipped Smile

Sal did good, though. Best part of the video. 5/7, would coerce others into voicing my videos again.

1582 Men's World Cup

The 1582 Men's World Cup features the 31 top nations qualified from the qualifying round as well as the host, Angiris. The entire world descends on Angiris for the greatest spectacle of sport. The previous champion, Kyrzbekistan, will be looking to retain their title in a rival nation. The host Angirisians will certainly be looking to develop under new manager Jurgen Baumann, who left Nyland after several close runs with the World Cup. Nyland meanwhile is in their first World Cup in the post-Baumann era.

Description:
Nerve stapling is a behavioral readjustment procedure undertaken for higher-tiered citizens as a humane alternative to deservicing, better known in other nations as electroconvulsive therapy. Nerve stapling is used to treat a wide variety of mental illnesses like seizures, catatonia, negative compliance, mania, work performance unbecoming a citizen's tier, schizophrenia, and major depressive disorder[1]. The difference between nerve stapling and traditional electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) lies in the method of treatment. ECT is often conducted in a clinic with the patient being brought to an ECT device, while nerve stapling starts with a surgical procedure to implant a small, battery-powered ECT device similar to a pacemaker into the skull above either the frontal or medial temporal lobes[2]. This allows treatment to be administered either on a regular timer or remotely by a physician.

Nerve stapling treatment allows malcompliant or even negatively compliant citizens to live productive, mobile lives with less physician commitment than traditional electroconvulsive therapy. In some infrequent-cycle treatments, physicians may check in as rarely as once a week to ensure treatment is being applied consistently. This is especially useful to higher-tiered citizens in sensitive positions who spend large amounts of time outside the MANINTERN, such as citizen diplomats, citizen trade-merchants, and contracted penal brigadiers.

Side-effects may include retrograde amnesia[3], disorientation, vomiting, seizures, and reduced hand-eye coordination.

Report

Description:
A discrete circuit is a combination of electronic components through which current can flow[1]. Variations in the flow of electric current can represent information, allowing the discrete circuit's use in computing electronics[2]. Individual components such as resistors and transistors are connected by wires. Increases in component miniaturization and efficient design allow for computers as small as a living room for industrial or government applications such as ballistic trajectory plotting, VOX synthesis and routing, and workforce allocation.

The main advantage to discrete circuitry over foreign alternatives is its legendary resistance to electromagnetic pulse (EMP) damage. MANINTERN nations trade processing power for an amount of EMP hardening that would be considered doubly or triply redundant by robber-baron democracies. Discrete circuitry fulfills the information technology component of the MANINTERN continuity of government plans in event of nuclear war or E-Bomb detonation.

Report

Description:
A telex (TELeprinter EXchange) network is a collection of teleprinters and teletype transmitters connected by physical wire or radio wave connection to send and receive text-based messages at rapid speed[1]. Having evolved from the crude electric typers of the robber-baron democracies which transmitted a series of ON or OFF signals via electrical cables, telex networks possess the same alphabet constructed of combinations of ON and OFF signals through dedicated telex wires or radio frequencies. A telex user sends a message by inputting it on a small keyboard of either letters (common for building-mounted telex machines) or phrases (common in mobile telex units, especially military) and a receiver code. The signal is then routed through the entirety of the telex network, composed of radio towers and landline nodes which store the message and search for the receiver code. Each node cycles through its connected telex machines and asks for their receiver code; if it matches the sender's receiver code, it sends the message. This process takes less than one second for a continental transmission on modern discrete-circuit computer-aided telex nodes, and is extremely data efficient.

It is likely that due to its efficiency, low data cost, extensive infrastructure, and possibility of compatibility with newer computing networks[2], telex will remain the prime form of communication for MANINTERN networks against its primary competitor vocex for some time to come.

Description:
A vocex (VOice Communication EXchange) network is a collection of a vocal transmitters and receivers connected by a physical wire or radio connection to send and receive auditory communications. Unlike telex, vocex transmits to an entire frequency or cable interval, both allowing for near-instantaneous communication and requiring users to strictly monitor and censor sensitive channels for listeners[1]. The two chief advantages of vocex over telex are that they are typically of a spoken voice, allowing the sender to convey more emotional and physical subtext than text alone, and that they are require no decoder as the telex system does[2]. They are, however, prohibitively expensive in their usage of data and lack of existing infrastructure on a national scale. This limits them mostly to communications requiring precise timing or situations where using a telex keyboard would be impractical. Fighter pilots and naval officers use vocex systems to speak to command personnel while their hands are used for controls, and some infantry units are now being training with hands-free vocex boxes to allow them to relay information in combat. Other more apocryphal systems such as the fabled "Black Phone" nuclear hotline of the Mandate Unification are said to use vocex, and this legend is based in the truth that many high-stakes diplomatic lines have both vocex and telex channels.

Unless data becomes cheaper, or vocex infrastructure widely expanded, it is believed that vocex will remain a high-priority communications method for some time to come.
