A gusty Tuesday afternoon, in the year 1595 brought with it a strong 35 MPH wind off the cape of Trivenze. One scholar would later say, "It was like the soul of the King went with it". King Frederico, had passed away at the age of 49 due to heart disease and a few other ailing effects. Smoking heavily is said to be the cause. The palace remained hushed on the subject, only stating that a vague press conference was planned that evening.

News around the region was buzzing later that eve. It was rumored that the Marblestone Palace would make an announcement over the royal marriage of Crown Prince Vittorio-Emanuele to Eugénie Joséphine Valois of Eskkya. It couldn't have been farther from the truth, and when the truth would surface the nation would be rocked harder since the first civil war (1321).

A old and shriveled press coordinator, by the name Enrico Cabralas stepped out to the podium and spoke in a nervous tone infront of the podium.

"Thank you for attending. In a moment the Crown Prince will enter and make a statement. We will not be recieving questions at this--"

A voice called out to the coordinator, "It is hardly necessary,"

Noneother than the crown prince himself entered the camera-shot and the coordinator stepped aside. What followed the prince were two generals and chancellor Trompi.

"Thank you all for being here, and gratzie to the people of Lomarre for watching and listening." He paused to wipe his eye, whether it be a tear or dust. Vittorio's face seems slightly red and flushed but otherwise remained emotionless, "It pains me to be here to make this announcement, but as of today, the father, King, and guide of the Lomarrens passed away."

A few in the crowd, those who couldn't believe the news, gasped; yet most in the room were silent. Vittorio continued on, "Twentyone years ago he was crowned after the death of his brother, in a terror attack that re-defined this nation's spirit. We took a step forward to reach out to our neighbors for help against the rising threat of fascists. We made alliances, and united royalty, especially from my mothers homeland of Goldecia. We formed trade and defensive partnerships with our long-time allies, the Holy Lanlanian Empire and the Republic of Eskkya. We built a wall and defensive barrier that spanned the border against the Carpathians. We began to mark a new era for our nation."

He would pause again to look off to the back of the room where his mother and courted was. He looked down and continued to speak what was left, "Per tradition a week of mourning shall begin and at weeks end, I will be crowned King Vittorio-Emanuele I of Lomarre. I pray my father will guide me as a guardian-angel, for I forsee challanges unlike any of us have seen yet."

As he stepped away from the podium with a slight bow of his head, the bells above the palace began a cadence of rings, to signal the reign of Frederico II had passed. The media began to ask questions as the King walked away, hurrying off to other matters.

Little beknownst to the small kingdom that the challenges Vittorio mentioned would erupt nearly a day later. Gone are the days of pretenders to the throne when a king dies. Now, factions of many kinds come out from the lowest corners of the world to break Lomarre's spirit.

Hello Hello, and welcome back to the Siora Awards! This October marks the third full year for the Eternity community as we know it, and boy, what a year it has been! A full year of larfs and writing, full of highs, lows, intense deluges and deserts of activity, rules and drama, and hopefully some memories and friendships we'll be able to carry ever forward into this next year and beyond.

So of course being the end of the fiscal year and the beginning of the next, it is time for Siora's Third Annual rendition of an awardsy-type thing! That's right, we're running this again despite all of my biggest most bestest judgment, folks. We like slapping ourselves on the back for things, and now we can do it in Official^TM Fashion! Iif you ever felt that your unfathomable genius has ever been under/unacknowledged, now is your opportunity to rectify that most grievous error! Since these Official^TM Awards are being decided by all the members of the community, now is the chance for your brilliance to shine above and earn utterly meaningless titles and PRIZES.*

Great question, you must be head of your class, a brilliant sparkle in the corner of your parents' eyes! All you have to do is copy everything within the spoilered code box below into a PM addressed directly to me, include your ONE vote for each category (which are explained below), and then submit the pm. After a Certain Amount Of Time^TM, all submitted "votes" will be tallied, and winners in each individual category declared - though we all know you'll win, you wonderful person you - to much celebration and fanfare.

So in light of this very old house that has been in my town forever. I finally found some more history from it than what was on the wikipedia page.

Early 1800's
Adam House came to Jefferson County soon after the turn of the century (1801
or 1802). The thrifty German, decided to keep away from the more populous
eastern settlements in favor of the wilds of Missouri, then known as Upper
Louisiana. He considered an area around a fine spring, which the Indians had
long used as a landmark, plus the fine sugar maples in the surrounding woods,
and decided that this would be a good location for his homestead. The
fertile flat land held the promise of abundant crops and the St Louis would
be his trading post to sell his products.
The Osage Indians were carrying their winter's catch of furs enroute to St
Louis where they intended to trade their goods for supplies such as would be
needed by tepee dwellers. They stopped by the House family farm to borrow
two horses but were refused by Adam House. While Adam returned to his sugar
making, the indians returned and decided to borrow the horses without him
knowing about it. He followed them to St Louis and had them arrested. The
indians were determined to get revenge so upon their release attacked the
House cabin. Adam House was running low on ammunition so sent his two
children for help.
The nearest settlement was twelve miles away but the children were not afraid
of life in the wilderness so they ran through the forest. One went to Fenton
and the other s to Kimmswick. By sending them at different times, House
hoped the chances of at least one getting through would be greater. One of
the children was a boy, age 13, and the other a girl, age 14. The settlers
from both Fenton and Kimmswick raced back to the Adam House home by the
spring but it was too late. The family had been killed and scalped. The
indians then cut off the heads of their victims and placed a lump of maple
syrup obtained from nearby vats.
The head of Adam House was carried to a large elm tree about 50 feet
from the house and placed in a tree some 40 feet off the ground to rest on a
"lofty" pedestal. To the Indians this denoted more than irony----this was
supreme sarcasm.
The possee realized that they were greatly outnumbered by the indians
so decided to abandon their chase for fear of an ambush.
The Adam House home stood some 50 yards north of the spring. Many
years later a large home was built near this spring [by Edward Burgess and
his wife Josephine Cromwell] and a headless skeleton was unearthed when the
basement was being dug. These bones were boxed and buried
elsewhere--location unknown.
The famous elm tree grew to a five foot diameter and was towering
about the area when the Burgess family decided to remove the dangerous
soaring decayed tree.
The House farm site is near the intersection of new Highway 30 and Hy W which runs Northwest to Eureka and Hy MM (which starts
just on the other side of Hy 30). After a long battle by local
preservationists in House Springs, the old Burgess home, shed and barn were
demolished and replaced by the likes of Hardees, KFC, and Captain D's. The
spring has been somewhat damaged by the blasting that was done to expand Hy
MM at the Hy 30 intersection to remove a sharp curve but it still runs,
albeit with a little less force! The crystal clear cold lake that use to be
teeming with fresh trout is now small and somewhat covered with moss. The
watercress that is a favorite in salads which use to abound in this fresh
cold water stream is gone.
"The Cornelius Demaree house today is located near the corner of Main Street and Gravois Road (State Route MM) in House Springs. The building was originally a log structure completed ca. 1837. Mr. Demaree lived on the several acre plot with his family until his death in 1857. By 1860 the property was auctioned off in parcels by Dr. George Smith, who marketed these plots as “The Town of Demaree,” claiming that there were already fifteen buildings in the town. According to probate records at the time, these buildings included the dwelling, a stable, a blacksmith shop, and even several well houses. Eventually the Demaree family disappeared from the area and the town re-named for the local House family, which had reportedly been massacred by Osage Indians, The town then gained its present moniker of House Springs. Over the years the Demaree house it has been expanded from pioneer cabin to a two story center hall “I-House” with a columned two-story gallery extending the entire length of the house’s principal façade. This house is important in the history and settlement of this area in Jefferson County. It has been empty and neglected for many years and was torn down today in the name of progress.

There is presently a vacancy for the manager of the Florinthian Men's National team. This is open to anyone who submits a resume. They will be hiring a manager on a contract through 1593, as they feel a long term contract is required to build a proper philosophy.

The FA is looking for someone who can qualify for all major tournaments and make the knockouts in each one. They have a desire to win at least one during the tenure, but would settle for a semi-final appearance. While the manager will have a relatively long leash and will be allowed to finish their term before they are evaluated, failing to qualify for any FBFA tournament or SIFA World Cup is grounds for immediate dismissal.

The FA is looking for someone who can play to Florinthus' strengths. Presently, the talent pool is thinner than in most years, and defenders in particular are weak. While the FA would like a defensive minded manager to institute a more defensive philosophy, their last managerial choice proved that you cant make lemonade with apples, and they are instead looking for someone to make it work with what Florinthus has to offer.

The FA is looking for someone with international experience with proven success, but this is not an absolute requirement. Below is the form you may fill out to apply. Add as much detail as is possible.
