My nation state is Cakeshire, and though I've been doing tabletop roleplay for a few years now I've new to forum based roleplay. I'm not really sure what I should be opening with so feel free to ask any relevant questions.

So, I don't know if I'll be coming back, but I want to make a few updates to my countries just in case I start RP'ing with them.

Akitsu: Retconn everything that's happened with the fascists. I don't like retconning, but this has become too much of a headache to deal with. IC'ly, Akitsu would have gone through several more election cycles with the LDP and Nationalist Parties exchanging power a few times. If anyone wants to talk about something specific that's happened, we can talk about it here.


Volta: I'm going to make this a list with dates.

• 1581, Treizen: Mass protests in Volta after Communist Party hardliners attempt to take over the government, but they fail
  
• 1582: First constitutional convention occurs with draft constitution written but an agreement to re-convene at a later date, political parties independent of the Communist Party of Volta allowed (provided they do not advocate for an end to communism/socialism and are not fascist/capitalist)
  
• 1583: Second constitutional convention, new constitution formalized
  
• 1584: New constitution adopted, but elections delayed while the government prepares the necessary infrastructure and consults possible foreign observers to ensure elections are done as freely and fairly as they can under what is allowed by Voltan law, legislation ending some sanctions against Carpathia passed with more sanctions ending over the next few years
  
• 1585: Political prisoners who's only crime was advocating for reform of the socialist system released, those that advocated for an end to communism/socialism or those that have since started to advocate for that remain in prison
  
• 1586: All remaining sanctions against Carpathia fully dropped

So this is me giving an official notice that I did things in the Discord. Really cool and fun things. Like scripting. Scripting's fun, right Lines?

Well anyways, here's a breakdown of what happened:

• Existing Channels Reorganized: Some of the channels were reorganized some and given clearer purposes. As for Side General, if there's something that recently came out and you really need to talk about it, it's strongly advised you chat about it there so no one tries to shank you for spoiling something. Like Snape kills Dumbledore.
  
• New Channels/Categories Created: New channels have been created for various things as well as new categories to organize said various things! There are now two RP discussion channels so that way when there's way too many damn conversations y'all won't slow down for 60 seconds there's a lot of activity there's more space to discuss that! Also, there's a place for newcomers to ask older members questions when filling out things. Also also, there's a channel on Discord policies. As a friendly reminder, utilizing the Discord server means you agree to both the policies listed on these Forums AND the policies listed on Discord. We also have yet another channel by the way, but that's in our next point.
  
• New Pip Feed: So Pip/Twitter is cool. I did a thing with a webhook and put it into another thingy called Zapier and it made a thing work. So now Peeps/Tweets will show up in that channel for your perusal! Also, it records everything so it's a great way to record some of Siora's history.
  

I'm posting this thread to make it extra clear what the HLE's doing in Brigidna right now, cause there's honestly a lot, some of it just as cover.

In Dosa 1587, the Emperor (Feryn) and Prime Minister (Ulrik Rithlund) visited West Brigidna, traveling to the various states to tell them about the lord and savior the current administration's plans/agenda/intentions/whatever/I don't actually know. OOCly, this front is mostly to balance the HLE's initiatives in south Brigidna.

Notably, the HLE is pursuing some things in the west:
Galeae, Veinland: it's offering a trade deal, secretly to make it easier for the HLE to gain economic influence over Galeae. But I hear that they're slaves clients puppets of the WBEA, so it probably won't go through.

Oslanburg: the Emperor is there to visit faaaaaaaaammiiillyyyy, and show it still values their alliance.

Nersyia: the Emperor and Prime Minister are there to show they still value their alliance.

Gehenna: value alliance.

It's also visiting Kave, Ostland, Dyreheim, and Aurentine. Mostly just as a show of goodwill.


In the same month, the Foreign Minister is touring South Brigidna. It's starting from Castleon, going through the Hejdar Union, then north to Lomarre, Eskkya, skipping Strathae, visiting Keszaria, and ending up in Carpathia. This tour is, oocly, to prepare for getting Carpathians to fight my wars die for me join the HLE is a righteous, just crusade against evil death to Severyane working with the Carpathians to promote peace, stability, and economic prosperity in South Brigidna.

The HLE will tell all its friends and allies that it wants to "promote regional peace and security" (MAN, IM A GENIUS) by improving relations with the Allied States and would offer to serve as mediator between them. To offset working with the Allied Statians, it would officially join the South Brigidnan Treaty Organization. Right now, it's only de-facto part of the SBTO, with its multiple bilateral treaties with multiple SBTO states (and its joint air defense area/command with them).

The HLE has no plans to propose Carpathia join SBTO or MSEC (Middengard Sea Economic Community) (any time soon, though may if Eskkya, Lomarre, Keszaria, Castleon, and the Hejdar Union states warm to them [but Strathae can sexually service Eskkya]). But it does plan on urging both sides to get along and possibly make concessions to one another where reasonable.

It was a warm, sunny day in the sprawling metropolis that is the capital of the Allied States. In the pleasant weather, people went about their daily lives in peace, enjoying safety and prosperity in this city that was the birthplace and the beating heart of National-Communism. But the serene atmosphere of this city said nothing about its past.

The citizens of the nation that had become the Allied States did not always enjoyed such safe and prosperous lives. Carpathia was a nation born out of the fires of revolution and forged of the steel of war. Indeed, everything within this nation, every right and benefit that its people enjoyed, was bought and paid for in blood.

The Allied States knew war, as intimately and intricately as one would know a gentle lover. Carpathia and war were intricately intertwined, forging a culture built upon the ideals of hard work, cooperation, sacrifice and military discipline that was unlike any other in the world.

Now, once again, Carpathia's old companion, war, seemed to once again loom on the horizon.

For nearly a decade and a half, the great and terrible bear that is the nation of Severyane, has hounded Carpathia at every step. It has rebuked every attempt made by Carpathia to establish friendly relations, it has done everything within its power to isolate and intimidate its leadership and people, but the Carpathian direwolf can only be pushed so far.

Behind the closed doors of one of the largest conference rooms within the People's House, a group of officials plotted Severyane's downfall. They awaited a guest which, a mere two years ago, no one would have thought would visit Carpathia: the Foreign Minister of the Holy Lanlanian Empire.

Up to this point, relations between the Allied States and the Holy Lanlanian Empire have been mostly neutral. Neither nation has engaged in actions through which it would declare itself the other's rival. Carpathia has stayed out of Lanlania's way and the Lanlanian leaders have been content to leave Carpathia to its own devices. Now, those relations seemed on the verge of taking a friendlier route.

The Lanlanian Foreign Minister's upcoming visit to Bucharest had been discussed and debated by the press ever since its announcement. It was certainly one of the biggest political surprises of the year. Little did the press know how far Carpathia's intentions went.

In the Carpathian government, the powers that be had decided to begin the delicate dance of courtship that would eventually result in an alliance with the Holy Lanlanian Empire. Carpathia would offer Lanlania a powerful ally and more importantly, secure Lanlanian interests in East Brigidna for the future. By picking the Lanlanian side, the Allied States were effectively eliminating a potential trojan horse amidst the carefully-built web of alliances that the Holy Lanlanian Empire had secured for itself in the region. Through the addition of Carpathia into its web of alliances, Lanlania would gain assurance that no nation in East Brigidna could challenge its interests in the region.

In return, Carpathia's own regional interests would be insured. By aligning itself with Lanlania and, by extension, its allies, Carpathia aimed to defuse decades of political tensions with its neighbors. And Carpathia would also gain a powerful backer against Severyane's continued pushes into the region, shoring up the Allied States' policy of deterrence and effectively hamstringing Severyan influence over East Brigidna.

And if all went according to the best case scenario, this was only the beginning of Carpathia's ascension. And of Severyane's downfall.
