Since I'm pretty much alone on the Isle at this point and my buddy gone and it doesn't seem like he's gonna come back. I think I might as well take the objective of writing the history myself. The purpose of this thread is to help fill in the gaps and make sure its fits with current history.
Quote:1200 BCE: Early Angirisians settle in North and in the bay of Lagkada in Octitania.
900 BCE: Agrarian communities start forming along the coast and the bay Lagkada and in South, and Western Arkiania. People begin moving extensively throughout the entirety of Octitania and also start heading south in Arkiania.
800 BCE: Much of the northern coastline become inhabited with a large amounts of settlements now appearing deeper into the mainland. Gallian tribes travel and settle in Eastern Arkiania.
700 BCE: Much of the coastline becomes inhabited, and tribes begin making contact with each other. The Northern Tribes unite to form the Kingdom of Roukalia and begins a campaign of expansion pushing south under King Cassandar Metaxas. A prophet establishes the Erounic religion in modern day Arkanium, and the tribe of Ark is formed.
650 BCE: Roukalia's campaign ends with the failure to cross the river of Lagkada. Roukalia now controls all of northern and eastern Octitania. Cassandar's heir, Kóri Metaxes is crowned as King after the death of Cassandar. South western Octitanian tribes unite in a coalition against Roukalia.
600 BCE: Numerous tribes in modern day Arkiania and modern day Achia unite to form various duchies.
590 BCE: Lagkada invades its southern neighbor Arnidas.
585 BCE: Lagkada wins the war against Arnidas, resulting in its annexing. Atiathum declares war on Ark with the objective of annexation.
575 BCE: Atiathum loses against Ark resulting in its annexation. Venius and Nymedia unite in personal union.
560 BCE: Roukalia invades Phalesus, Asklaieus, Achurias, and Lagkada.
550 BCE: Roukalia fails its invasion after long stalemate and is divided between the invaded countries, resulting in the end of the Metaxes dynasty and the exile of Roukalians to the northernmost island. In the start of a small era of peace, Krinisian trade sours with the outside world establishing contact with the peoples that had previously settled on the Isle. The increase trade benefits the Duchy of Lagkada the most and becomes the most powerful in the region. This is also the beginning of a period of 50 years of peace.
500 BCE: Realising the unfeasibility of its northern border, and previously established rivalry and mistrust. Lagkada declares war on Phalesus Akslaieus, and Achurias. The rivalry between Ark and Antigus, and Antiga. Ark declares war on both, ending the period of peace on Krinis. The Duchy of Elatokori re-organizes itself as a Kingdom, forming the Kingdom of Achia.
495 BCE: Antigus and Antiga lose the war in a devastating defeat, after their forces are surrounded at the coast leading to their annexation by Ark. Ark restructures itself into the Grand Duchy of Arkiania.
450 BCE: Lagkada wins its wars with Achurias, Asklaieus, and Phalesus, and annexes them. Lagkada restructures itself into the Arthian Grand Duchy, and invades Messenia. Thessius invades Veni-Nymedia across the straights. Veni-Nymedia, Tavium, Byzataeia, and Arkiania form a coalition against them.
447 BCE: Messenia is seized and annexed.
420 BCE: The Arthian Grand Duchy invades Byzateia, Tavium, Veni-Nymedia, and Arkiania. Thessius and the coalition agree to white peace.
300 BCE: After 120 years of war, the Arthian Grand Duchy defeats the coalition, and along with them, subjugates and eventually annexes Achia. It restructures into an Imperial form of government, now officially referred to as the Arthian Imperium. Knowing about the Arthian threat, Thessius fortifies the entire island in preparation for future Arthian invasion.

New process for submitting Campaign and Post-conflict stats update |

Yes. Rather than one thread for all applications of a type, there's now one thread containing the form for each. You will now take that form and post a new thread in this forum--be sure you use the right prefix.
This change was to facilitate discussion on a submitted application and to phase out OOC discussions threads on expansions (cause they're kinda redundant or something, IDRK).

Expanding Country: Kazemura
EC.'s Government Type: Imperial Democratic Stratocracy
Campaign Setting: 1589/1590 Start Time
Campaign Goal: Sainam; Celestia (which should be renamed to Imperial Edo State or Edo)
Informational Links: Factbook
When did you last have an Expansion? I mean... ended November 2018? But it was more with the understanding of what happens next
When was the Expanding Country's last military conflict? Military Action in Singan (to restore order)
Why do you seek to expand? RESTORE HEIWANAN GREATNESS. Also overthrow the Mad Emperor of Sainam
Campaign Plot:
Family matters are definitely the worst.
After the conclusion of negotiations between Chikasu and Kazemura, things seemed to settle between them over the next two years. The two nations seemed to actually be on better terms and there was talks in public that maybe they could start working together on other things.
Well that talk came at a good time as Sainam abruptly decided to make a mess. Emperor Akira Sekai of Sainam, having recently consolidated power, decided that now was the best time to retake the Imperial Edo State. Chikasu was still dealing with internal issues with Shimazu and Kazemura was trying to parse through the mess at the border between Hoinom and Singan. Additionally, taking the state would give him control of the Imperial Palace and allow him to get his grubby hands on the Celestial Throne, thus reinforcing his claim on the region and ensuring he can whip up support at home to prevent a collapse of his mandate. So with major positives and few downsides, it makes sense that Sainam should try to take the state, right?
As it turns out, Chikasu isn’t too thrilled with that. Unsurprisingly, neither is Kazemura. But surprisingly, Kazemura’s first (public) instincts isn’t to jump in and fight everyone to make it a free for all like the first three times. Instead, the Empress decides that perhaps Chikasu would be interested in working together to take back Edo and even depose the Mad Emperor to replace it with far less belligerent leadership. And if they aren’t, well Kazemura will just act unilaterally to handle this matter anyways.
Chikasu knows Kazemura’s Empress is up to something. But is it prepared to refuse support at a time when it seems as though the entire region is about to explode? And if it does accept the support, with caveats, what is Kazemura’s endgame?
Will Mirai and Hiraku outwit everyone to pull all the pieces together? Will Akira outlast his opponents and emerge victorious? Or will Chikasu outplay its neighbors and make a turn that no one suspects?
The pieces are set up. The plan is in full motion. Heiwana stands at the crossroads; its Baptism by Fire has begun.
Potential for Other Player Involvement: Other nations might be able to pick sides in the war. Depending on Chikasu’s choice regarding an alliance with Kazemura though, it will become far more difficult for foreigners to push their way in. Mestra’s alliance with Kazemura may play a role; Drubang’s plans for expansion will definitely throw a wrench in things.
How your country may evolve from success: Depends on the endgame, but let’s presume Kazemura comes out on top from a United Front Victory.
Kazemura and Chikasu are the victors of the war. For the first time since the fall of the Heiwanan Empire, there are only two major players left. At this juncture they could come to blows for the final showdown or come together and bring about a new federation. Likely, this latter option would be the one both of them take up; Chikasu would likely press for the Empress to step down as Head of State in this Federation and she would oblige, serving as a religious figure instead.
How your country may evolve from defeat: A defeat by Sainam’s hands would likely mean the dramatic rise of a new authoritarian power. Democracy will have been dealt a critical blow at a time when confidence is sorely needed; both Chikasu and Kazemura may become too weak to stand against the absolutist reign of Emperor Akira who could proceed to conquer the rest of the archipelago.

Blauhavn - Nerysia
It was crowded with people in the big northern harbor of Nerysia, as a passenger ship had just arrived and had begun unloading. Among the passengers was a Lanlanian middle-aged man, named Jarl Steinsson. Steinsson frequently checked his phones for new messages while waiting in the line before the customs service, as every arrived passenger had his visum and identity extensively checked. The arrivals hall was monitored with CCTV cameras everywhere and heavily armed royal military police officers were casually walking arround the waiting people with dogs by their side, sniffing at people and their bags.
Once Jarl had managed to get through all the security, he pulled over a taxi outside to take him to his hotel. ''So what brings you here? Tourist? Family?'' the cab driver asked in broken Lanlanian. Jarl shook his head. ''Work. But I also like the opportunity to get to know the country a little bit.''
The cab driver seemed genuinely honored that the foreigner was taking an interest in his country. Not many people did. ''Thats good to hear. Here in this city, we have lots of things to see. The cathedrals, the squares, the shore. Make sure you taste our fish as well!''
Jarl smiled. ''I will surely explore the city. Anything I have to watch out for?''
The cab driver hesitated for a moment. ''No, here its pretty good. Nothing can happen to you. Just don't take photographs of government buildings. Some tourists got into trouble for that.''
Jarl nodded. He was aware of that odd rule. Once he had arrived at his hotel, a majestic building looking out over the water, he reached for his phone. No new messages, and no missed phonecalls. Jarl entered the grand lobby of the hotel, lavishly decorated with gold and marble, enormous crystal lamps, and of course a giant portrait of a stern-looking monarch in formal uniform. A lady at the reception welcomed Jarl to the hotel. ''You're room is ready. All we require is your passport, which will be kept in a safe. One of our staff is on his way to take you to your room and carry any luggage.''
Once Jarl entered his room and was left alone, he began to relax a bit. He checked the bathroom, the mini-bar, and the bedroom and concluded that he could get used to such luxury. He walked over to the window, looking out over the sea. He then went to the mini-bar to grab a glass and a bottle of Lomarran wine, and turned on the tv for some background noise. Nerysian TV was quite odd. There were roughly 200 channels, all of them Nerysian. They broadcasted documentaries, ballet performances, a tonne of commercials, movies and game shows. The most peculiar tv programs were their so-called news shows and talk shows.
The news was just an endless list of horrible footage from across Siora about wars, crime, and disasters taking place. It was almost with a kind of sadistic pleasure that Nerysian tv reported on the suffering of people elsewhere on the planet. The talk shows were equally odd. They seemed to start with something light-hearted, like a live music performance, after which they would discuss a more serious topic. This ''serious topic'' was handled by two ''guest'' commentators entering a discussion on subjects like abortion, crime or immigration. One guest was labelled an ''activist'', the other branded an ''expert''. The ''activist'' seemed to be something of a carricature, always taking very extreme stances, acting hysterical, and inviting the boo's from the audience. Opposite to that was a moderate ''expert'', calmly reasoning, applying logic and simply taking the stances that were more or less in line with those of the Nerysian government. So Nerysian talk shows looked a rather staged excercise at ridiculing and mocking the views of the political opposition.
After watching tv for a while, one of Jarl's phones pinged. He had a new message:
''WENCESLAS RD. LEAVE PHONE IN HOTEL''
Jarl knew everything he had to know. His heart-rate took a jump. He dismantled his phones, taking out their chip and batteries, locking them in the safe in his hotel room. The glass of wine he drank from disappeared in his briefcase and he checked the sheets on the bed for any hairs he might have left behind. Having made sure he had removed at least all obvious traces of DNA, he quietly left his room, taking the staircase down. As Jarl exited the hotel, he quickly scanned the environment and parking lot to see if there were any figures observing the hotel entrance, or whether any cars were staking out.
Realizing there were simply too many cars, and too many people in the streets to realistically spot any professional observers, Jarl decided to play a little game. He nearly threw himself, in an act of total recklessness, before a taxi to make it stop and quickly jumped in the car. ''To the central bus station please!''
The surprised and somewhat irritated cab driver nodded, and drove off. Jarl checked the mirrors to see if there was any response from someone, and indeed, some young man who was seemingly just having a smoke and a chat with a lady could now be seen aiming his telephone camera at Jarl's taxi. Gotcha!
