Nylander Intervention in the Shalmar Islands [APPROVED] - Ayzek - 11-16-2018

When was the Expanding Country's last military conflict? Intervention in Tambossa?
Why do you seek to expand?
IC: We must save these people!
OOC: It is politically convenient. Also, I am showing you nerdherders that Nyland is not like other girls NPCs.

Campaign Plot
The President of the Free Republic of Shalmar, President Ulrik Thorssen, has been overthrown in a coup by General Buttahede while on a state visit to the neighboring nation of Islands. This attack on the democratic traditions of Shalmar is completely unacceptable and so President Ulrik Thorssen petitions the Republic of Nyland for assistance.

President Lalanda Marionette answers the call of the poor undereducated savages Nyland's fellow republicans and orders the Fourth Fleet, on patrol in the southern Aesean Ocean to quarantine the Shalmar islands. Amphibious Squadron SIX and the 8th Marine Expeditionary Unit are shortly deployed to liberate Shalmar from its occupation.

Potential for Other Player Involvement
Someone could role play General Buttahede and his GOONS. Nyland's Assembly might also make an appearance, if you guys choose to fite the PRESIDENT on her use of military force.

How your country may evolve from success
Nyland will free the islands and then help them with a CoMpacT Of frEE AssOciAtiON. Shalmar will maintain its sovereignty, but be under the loving, protective embrace of the Republic of Nyland...if the Assembly approves the treaty.

How your country may evolve from defeat
If the assembly doesn't approve the COmpaCt oF FrEe ASSoCiaTioN, then Nyland won't get control of the islands and maybe the Lanlanians will waltz in instead.
