  Announcing The Dominion Chronicles
Posted by: Aerandariel - 12-10-2018, 06:28 AM - Forum: Discussion and Planning - Replies (9)

The Dominion Chronicles is a planned series of RP threads/story-telling events that will take place in various cities and territories of the Angirisian Dominion. I'm planning them in three "trilogies", each three "episodes" long. This is the first real attempt I'm making at more character-level roleplay instead of using a national-level point-of-view. Among the characters you may see throughout these trilogies include the Emperor, the remaining members of his family, and many members of the Imperial Council and Senate, including newly-installed Foreign Secretary Mariska Janeway, who I have planned to have an integral part of this immense saga.

The first trilogy will deal with the twilight days of Emperor Tyrael's reign. After a quarter-century on the Throne, Tyrael's health is slowly beginning to fail him. Having now outlived his father, having reached a point that not many emperors in Angirisian history have reached, and after bringing an end to the long-lived Empire and birthed the Dominion through military might and economic growth, Tyrael begins to ponder what lays in his future. Unbeknownst to him, those around him are pondering their futures too. Crown Prince Albrecht, the Emperor's brother and heir apparent, is biding his time in hopes that his older brother merely abdicates the Throne in his favor instead of dying in the chair like their father did. Mariska Janeway, the new Foreign Secretary of the Dominion, is in her own way hoping to make her mark with shrewd political maneuvers and skillful diplomatic prowess with the goal of perhaps one day becoming the first reigning Empress in Angirisian history. The Dominion Senate, though seen as a representative body of the citizenry but lacking any real power, has begun to grow sick and tired of being the Emperor and his administration's puppets. With the Emperor's decline and the apparent infighting amongst the Emperor's officials, the Senate believes it can take away some of the power it has lost to the Throne.

The Angirisian Dominion is heading for a period of uncertainty, and perhaps conflict on a scale it has not borne witness to in many centuries. How will the many personalities and agendas involved clash and intertwine with one another? Only time can tell...

Now that I've gotten THAT out of the way, I am open to any ideas, suggestions or maybe interest in playing the role of one of the many characters in this series you all may have. Forewarning: for the first episode, both Emperor Tyrael and Mariska Janeway are off-limits as I will be playing out their interactions. Anyone else, including Prince Albrecht, is fair game.

Denali Accord - Establishment of the United Allied States
Posted by: Mestra - 12-09-2018, 02:14 AM - Forum: Treaties - No Replies

The Denali Accord
Summary
The Denali Accord was signed on Friday 13th of Tolven in the year 1592 of the Common Era by Edward ve Meneris, Emperor of the Mestran Imperium and Quintilus Valerii II, Emperor of the Imperial Republic of Drahen, and Tiberius Aurelius, High King of the Grand Kingdom of Arkiania.  The culmination of years of relationship building following the decolonization and recognition of the Imperial Republic of Drahen as a sovereign and independent state by the Mestran Imperium in 1311 CE lead to talks and discussions for the establishment of an international organization.  The two nations, possessing a shared system of values, government, language, and culture, having seen great advantage in mutual friendship and joint stewardship of economic, scientific, humanitarian, and cultural advancement, and of the mutual benefits of joint security and defense moved to establish the United Imperial States to better solidify the relationship of mutual understanding and respect between the two nations.  The inclusion of the Grand Kingdom of Arkiania a long time friend and ally of the Mestran Imperium and Drahen, brought about new talks for the structure of the new organization.  After years of talks and negotiations, the organization was rebranded as the United Allied States.

  1595 Tour de Valland
Posted by: Hadash - 12-08-2018, 02:39 PM - Forum: Sports and Competition - Replies (4)

1595 Tour de Valland

Stage 1 - L'Evantois | ITT - 6 km

The 1595 Tour de Valland started this year in the Laurintian Kingdom, where it will continue for three days. The first stage was an individual time-trial stage, which took place in the urban streets of L'Evantois. The stage was relatively short -only six kilometres- and although the stage include a 400 m. hill, time-trial specialists were expected favourites to win the stage and took the red jersey as the first leader of the general classification.

24-year old Zechariah Ussishkin (Abbott Cycling) surprised the main favourites winning the stage, becoming the first Eretzoran rider to win a stage in the Tour de Valland. Andris Ozols (KyrzAir) and Svarna Hira Sabanis came afterwards, three seconds behind Ussishkin, which obviously became also the first Eretzoran to wear the general classification, points classification, and youth classification in the Tour de Valland history.

Stage 2 - L'Evantois-Nassoville | Flat stage - 198 km

The second stage, also in Laurentian territory, was a flat stage favourable to sprinters - in case that there was not a successful breakaway. That was certainly the case, as teams as NDM Cycling, Iskra Team, Yetech-Druzhberg and Dido-GDC worked hard to neutralize any attempt, and the winner of the stage was decided in a mass sprint.

Adwestene sprinter Kiel Albert Fyfe (Dido-GDC) defeated the young Ostlander Johannes Rapp (Scholden-Gulcron) and Nylander Michael Ahlgren (Anzcelll) to win the stage.

Stage 3 - Vastière-Merletour | Flat stage - 208 km

The next stage, the last one in Laurentian territory, followed a similar script, and it was decided in a mass sprint - although much more chaotic. The veteran Oslanburgan Sven-Ole Wieth, the 1594 World Champion, this season in the NDM team, defeated Vallish sprinter Christophe Villiers (Anzcell) in a close sprint to win his 45th stage in a Grand Tour. Strathaen Aonghus Tadg (United Strathae) and Florinthian Quentin Symonds (Dido-GDC) were third and  fourth respectively.

Stage 4 - Gironde-Ayménoye | Hilly stage - 197 km

Ussishkin had not problems to keep the red jersey, but it was soon obvious that it was going to be harder on stage 4, as the peloton seemed unable to control the race, as riders had to ride through several small hills through the day.

A large breakaway was formed, with almost twenty riders of diverse characteristics. Although the peloton worked hard to reduce the gap - which reached up to four minutes only fifty km. to the finish- they seemed to give up in the last ten kilometres. This cheered the breakaway up, and after many attacks the group was reduced to nine riders in the last four kms.

Ferenz Racz (Anzcell) and Morten Holm (Luft Wurberg) attempted to leave behind their rivals, but they would be caught in the final kilometre. As Holm did not even try to follow them, the group was reduced to five riders. Despite the last attempt by Nylander Jacob Schuyler (BataVelo) in a last attack, the victory was to be decided in a small sprint.

Galeaen Melker Rausing (Yetech-Druzhberg) proved to be the fastest of all them, winning easily his first stage in the Tour de Valland. Mordvanian Marcus Gucevicius (Iskra) and Adwestene Gerry Howes-Heeley (KyrzAir) came second and third respectively. The peloton arrived about one minute after Rausing crossed the finish, so Jacob Schuyler became the new leader of the general classification, followed by Keszarian Ferench Racz. Gehennan Max Pappenheim (Dido-GDC, who finished fourth, was now leading the youth classification, as Ussishkin was not even able to finish in the main peloton, along about another thirty riders.

  Trading Fiefs for Video Games
Posted by: Ayzek - 12-08-2018, 02:27 PM - Forum: Office of Fief Administration - Replies (20)

If you wish to trade Fiefs for a video game, this is the thread. You may trade for any video game listed in this thread, provided it's still available. The Administration team reserves the right to add or remove game from the lists at any moment. The keys to these games are provided by Ayzek over Humble Bundle.

Instructions

Copy the form available at the bottom of this post, fill it in, post it in this same thread, and wait for Ayzek to reply. After your trade has been approved, donate the fiefs to the Administrator here. Only after you have donated the fiefs will Ayzek PM you the Humble Bundle gift link.

If the game is not available for whatever reason, you will receive your Fiefs back.

Pricing
At this time, the Administration Team doesn't care to review the games to give each an individual price tag (there are over 300 of them). So:
  • High profile/AAA/big-name games will be 400 Fiefs
  • Medium profile/indie games will be 200 Fiefs
  • Ancient/OLD games will be 100 Fiefs, and
  • DLC will be 100 Fiefs.

Index
Note: if a game is listed multiple times, it's cause we have multiple keys available. While most of these games are via Steam, some are via Origin and IDK what else.

  Announcement: Fiefs Enabled
Posted by: Ayzek - 12-08-2018, 12:14 PM - Forum: The Bulletin Board - Replies (1)

As some of you may have already noticed, the Administration Team has incorporated "participation points" into the Board. They are called Fiefs, because of course. You can view some more (arguably useless) information about the system on its page: here.

In summary, however, you get:

  • 1 fief per post
  • 1 fief per 1600 characters/300-ish words in a post
  • 4 fiefs per thread
  • 4 fiefs per vote in thread
  • 10 fiefs per dollar donation
  • Zero fiefs in spam
  • Double fiefs in role play forums

These values were selected after hours of trial and error to achieve synergy or whatever. While the system only shows you whole numbers, it tracks them in decimals, so you do not lose any fiefs if you don't hit multiples of 1600. You will get fiefs for content throughout the entire board, but double fiefs for participating in role play and no fiefs in spam (fuck spam). You will also get fiefs for voting in polls (eg., elections).

The forums which grant double fiefs are: Siora, Siora Media Siora Historical, Fantasia, Andlosheim, Alternative Earth, Pokemon Ultimate.

Now, what can you actually do with these fiefs?

Stuff. Yes, stuff. Nothing right now, but Administration is planning to let you exchange fiefs for video games (from Ayzek's collection of keys), a personalized user group (will be quite expensive as it requires extra back-end support), pretty things. I am open to other ideas.

Fiefs will not influence a players role player level badge and vice versa.

  Sign Languages
Posted by: BrumBrum - 12-07-2018, 11:56 PM - Forum: Discussion and Planning - Replies (2)

I've got an idea for sign langauges in the world. Maybe for sign language we could have standard sign languages for the main langauges with perhaps some dialects but basically enough similarity to understand each other. So for example you have a Laurentian sign langauge, llanlanian sign langauge , Florinthian sign langauge and not german sign langauge etc .... Basically alot of common sign langauges adopted for ease of use. These could be the ones taught in the schools, colleges and universities. We could explain it by maybe one or two nations deaf societies harmonising or maybe they spread out from points.
