Announcement: Fiefs Enabled - Ayzek - 12-08-2018

As some of you may have already noticed, the Administration Team has incorporated "participation points" into the Board. They are called Fiefs, because of course. You can view some more (arguably useless) information about the system on its page: here.

In summary, however, you get:
  • 1 fief per post
  • 1 fief per 1600 characters/300-ish words in a post
  • 4 fiefs per thread
  • 4 fiefs per vote in thread
  • 10 fiefs per dollar donation
  • Zero fiefs in spam
  • Double fiefs in role play forums

These values were selected after hours of trial and error to achieve synergy or whatever. While the system only shows you whole numbers, it tracks them in decimals, so you do not lose any fiefs if you don't hit multiples of 1600. You will get fiefs for content throughout the entire board, but double fiefs for participating in role play and no fiefs in spam (fuck spam). You will also get fiefs for voting in polls (eg., elections).

The forums which grant double fiefs are: Siora, Siora Media Siora Historical, Fantasia, Andlosheim, Alternative Earth, Pokemon Ultimate.

Now, what can you actually do with these fiefs?

Stuff. Yes, stuff. Nothing right now, but Administration is planning to let you exchange fiefs for video games (from Ayzek's collection of keys), a personalized user group (will be quite expensive as it requires extra back-end support), pretty things. I am open to other ideas.

Fiefs will not influence a players role player level badge and vice versa.

RE: Announcement: Fiefs Enabled - Ayzek - 12-17-2018

Dearest Vassals,

On this day, the 16th of December Year of Our Lord (that's me) 24, His Most Imperial and Royal Apostolic Celestial Majesty, King Alldays, Our Lord and Savior, Dear Leader, the Chief Administrator has blessed you with new features. After an arduous several days in which He struggled without food or rest against the forces of evil and rebellious PHP, the Chief Administrator has successfully established a bridge between the ERPC Wiki and the Board.

This bridge, built on the back of PHP under His divine guidance, will grace His sheep with fiefs in His name.

For every image you upload to the Wiki, you will be blessed with 8 fiefs. For every 1600 characters you write, He will honor you with another fief. He will be bless you whether you are creating a new article, or editing an established one.

And he has not forgotten the pioneers who have already contributed to the Wiki. For you, adventurous Sheep, he has created the Wiki Scripts page. By simply laying a claim to an article or image, you will be blessed with fiefs.

But be warned: He is a vengeful Chief Administrator. If you abuse His grace, your fiefs will be struck with plague and wither, the blood of their people on your hands.

Translation

I am a god and have scripted stuff to give you nerds fiefs for contributing to the wiki. New contributions to the wiki will automatically credit your account if your wiki username matches your forum name. If your wiki account doesn't use the same name, you may link it to your Board account by adding it to your profile through control panel (the Wiki Account setting).

Fiefs accrue at a rate of:
  • 8 fiefs per image,
  • 1 fief per 1600 bytes (250ish words).

You may claim the fiefs for content already on the wiki through the Wiki Scripts page. Simply write the name of the article in the text box, press the button, and you will receive fiefs. It is recommended you claim a page before you edit it again. The scripts are linked, and if you edit a page before you claim it, you will not be able to claim its full value.

You will lose fiefs if you claim an article that you didn't write. Everything is logged.

Contributing to an article someone else started, through the wiki itself, is fine. The Wiki gives the user doing the edit the fiefs, not the user who started the article. You should let them claim the page through the Wiki Scripts page first, though.

There are ways to abuse the system and doing so willfully will cost you all your fiefs. Literally all of them. I will leave you with 0 fiefs if you abuse the system. Zero. None.

Wiki Scripts will not let you claim an article that has already been claimed (creating or editing the page counts as claiming it). It will also stop you from claiming pages that don't exist, and non-article, non-image pages (eg., templates). You must be logged in to claim stuff.
