1584-85 SIFA World Cup Qualifiers

The SIFA World Cup qualifiers are a series of regional matches that determine which nations shall participate in the 1586 SIFA World Cup Mandavines. Two hosts have already been given automatic qualification, Magentina and Lusby & Corwyn, after a brief tournament including the other potential host nations, Puerto Seguro and Skoven. The other two nations will still host matches, but will have to qualify for the World Cup in the usual way. The other thirty places are determined through qualification. Each region has a set number of qualification places, as well as a specific number of wild card bids that allow nations who failed to qualify a chance to play other similar nations to earn their second chance at the tournament. 1585 FBFA Brigidna Cup Cyrus, Felis, Freesia, and Selisa


This is the topic for the 1585 FBFA Brigidna Cup in Cyrus, Felis, Freesia, and Selisa. This event is noteworthy for several reasons. This is the first time the event has ever hosted so many participants, 24 in total from across the continent. This is also the first time the event has featured four hosts, in a special quad-host event that the FBFA agreed to given the expanded tournament. The event will be hosted in the four small south-Brigidnan nations of Cyrus, Felis, Freesia, and Selisa. This is the first event major international football event any of these nations has ever hosted so the excitement is truly palpable.

HEAR ye, hear ye, the 1580-1581 session of the Nyland Federal Assembly is now in session. All Honourable Assemblypersons, do please take your seats for role-call.

Within these halls, all legislative decisions for Nyland shall take place. Anyone from any party shall be allowed to present legislation for consideration, but only one bill may be active upon the floor for debate and vote at any one time. Furthermore, during debate, one must clearly state who is being recognized to speak on the floor, their party (if applicable), and then put forth their statement or argument for or against the bill and other points of discussion; one may refer to others arguments if they so desire, but they shall refrain from direct outbursts on the floor without having been called to the floor to speak.


The Rules
This is meant to be a fun thing where anyone can pop in as an assemblyperson of Nyland's legislature, and legislation by no means has to remain serious or solemn. There are a few basic rules to consider, however:

1) Legislation for the period can only be presented during an open period for submittal. The status of the Bill Submittal period is located above. If you miss the posting period, tough shit; hold onto it for later.
2) Submitted Bills are first-come, first-served. If emergency stuff happens, such as natural disaster or a state of war, a separate thread will be created. (No more Tambossa-style "vote only" unless time is really, really of the essence)
3) There are no time limits on debate. If the session ends before debate finishes, or we don't get through the queue of bills, then tough shit, it's gone; remake it in the next session.
4) To move for a vote, two people must motion for a vote. Voting will then begin in this thread, with people posting whether they vote for or against, and which party they represent.
5) After a bill moves to a vote, there is no revote; will not be re-submitted until the next session.
6) Votes will be weighted by party, and the party's votes split based upon those who recognize themselves as from such party. Individual people may of course split their alloted votes amongst (yes), (no) and (abstain) if they so wish.
7) Any Bill that passes a vote, regardless of how trivial or silly, will move to the President's Desk for consideration; the President must post his approval/denial in this thread.
8) Any bill denied by the President may still become law with a 2/3 majority in favor in the legislature; any bill approved by the President is in immediate effect and becomes law throughout Nyland.

This kind of game is older than most people on the internet, and I'm sure many have seen it before.

The objective is simple: Look at the last post in the thread, and post the first thing that comes to mind when seeing that word. Single words preferred; multiple words allowed in the case of nouns, as long as they all refer to one thing.

I will start us off.

This isn't strictly speaking an expansion, but Mr. Dear Leader,

Black Velvet and I would like to discuss the situation regarding Florinthus, Galeae, Oslanburg, and Vienland eventually merging. We also talked about the potential for Ostland or Kave, but idk about that.

We were thinking around 1600-1610 for the final merge to happen. We've been "working" on this since basically the beginning, more or less. Just looking to set up a discussion with you sometime so we can lay it out and establish your, meaning the roleplay director hat, expectations and instructions for what will be the final two or three decades of development. (yeah, definitely a long haul sort of thing).

I get it's not really a normal occurrence so it doesn't really fit any of the present forms. Furthermore, this is kind of a special IC situation so I'm not certain you would need a special form for mergers anyway.

Almanarnian General Elections of 1585

Welcome to Decision 1585! This year, the United States of Almanarnia shall be holding its general elections, which means that the Presidency is once more up for the taking! These elections shall be unique as for the first time in decades, a newly formed party will be looking to seize the President's Estate.

As per the Constitution of the United States of Almanarnia, the following will be up for consideration in this election:

• The President and Vice President of the United States for a four year term each (up to 14 years total)
  
• 24 Senator seats for a four year term each (exact numbers below)
  
• 480 National Assembly seats for a two year term each

1585 Florinthian Open

The Florinthian Open is a major tennis tournament held annually over late Septem and early Ochtyr in Lordsprot, Florinthian Federation. First held in 1489, the tournament is chronologically the third of the four Grand Slam tennis events of the year. It is played permanently on grass surfaces since 1494.

NCDA is willing to make some changes on Nyland's foreign policy, or rather making a reality during this term some already designed projects. Although this would require the approval of Kohout and the rest of the cabinet, obviously, I believe they would be acceptable for them.

1) Skathian integration. NCDA believes that further Skathian integration is required for the stability and prosperity of the continent. So we would propose a permanent council formed by most Skathian countries, including Nyland. This may involve:

• Permanent headquarters, with a General Secretary and delegates from each country. Decisions likely made by consensus.
  
• A confederence of Skathian heads of state or Foreign Ministers/Secretaries of State at least every three/six months.
  
• Ideally, a basic Human Rights treaty, and similar institutions to the Council of Europe. If there are too many "bad boys" in Skathia and we are willing to accept them, well, we may opt to something more like a "Skathian Arab League".
  
• A free trade agreement between Skathian countries (this may already exists between some Skathian countries, I suppose, though).
  
• There is not supposed to be further political integration, freedom of movement, etc. This is not supposed to be a Skathian European Union, at least for a while. Just a official forum to solve differences and bring more stability to the region.
  

• A) A Trade Agreement between Nyland and Ostaran countries, which may include nations such as Kortoa, Hôinôm, Singan, Mayari, Tiejungo, Sainam, Jandrea. Maybe even Kazemura and, eventually, Svarna and Akitsu.
  
• B) If there is not much enthusiasm for the first proposal, this could be also done through a more general Skathian-Ostaran Trade Agreement (some kind of Trans Skathian-Khivan Treaty) including nations such as Sequoia, Maurnnia, Bisica, the Mandavines, etc, along the already mentioned Ostaran countries.
