Oslanburg Nationalist Front Maintains Majority.

Herlev, Oslanburg | The Oslanburg Nationalist Front scored a sweeping victory in Folteking elections, despite losing twelve seats final results showed Monday morning. Despite this, they still managed to hold onto their super majority. Voter turnout was estimated at 63.4 percent, lower than the 81.9 percent in the previous Folteking elections, held in 1573, one of the lowest ever turnouts for any Oslanburgan election.

According to the results, the ONF ruling government won a total of 290 seats, maintaining the status quo and strong showing that has been seen in previous elections by the ONF.

The Oslanburg Democratic Party Party meanwhile ended up with 46 seats, gaining six more than it's last showing in 1573. The United Labour Party garnered 26, three more than previous; the Social Democrats 10; and the number of independents in the Folteking remained the same at 43, with most being aligned to the ruling government.

Herlev, Oslanburg | The Oslanburg Democratic Party won an overwhelming majority in recently concluded Folteking elections, OUT can now confirm, citing exit polls. With the country still on rocky feet following the months of protests that saw the Bjarnesan regime bow to pressure and call early elections, new Prime Minister Damara Larsen hailed the vote as a resounding moment in the history of Oslanburg.

“I asked you to vote for a democratic, free, and more open Oslanburg,” she said in a statement posted on his website after results were officially confirmed. “Thank you for having heard and supported this appeal.” Larsen said those who voted “powerfully and permanently supported Oslanburg's return to democracy and to a better future.” She called the result “a landslide vote of confidence from the people.”

This win for the ODP would complete a transformation of the government that began when then Prime Minister Bjarnesan announced early elections after lengthy talks with opposition forces and sustained, bloody street protests after the death of former Prime Minister Johan Ibsen following being assassinated outside the Folteking chamber.

International observers said the election was technically well organized, and no irregularities were found at any of the polling stations across the west Brigidnan state.

According to the results, the ODP, won a total of 229 seats well past the needed majority to form a government on their own. The United Labour Party meanwhile ended up with 156 seats, gaining 130 more seats since last elections, a significant improvement over their last showing. The Social Democrats garnered 17, seven more than previous more than previous; the Oslanburgan Greens 7; entering the Folteking for the first time since 1573, the Oslanburg Nationalist Front remained with 1 and finally a total of 7 independent candidates managed to gain seats.

Arch King & Queen to make State Visit the Holy Lanlanian Empire

Herlev, Oslanburg | Arch King Aerin III will address the Holy Lanlanian Riksdag on the dangers of the far right in a state visit that will take place between Dosa 4th - 5th according to sources in the Oslanburgan government. Arch King Aerin III and Arch Queen Johanna will make a state visit to the Holy Lanlanian Empire in Dosa, also accompanying them will be Crown Prince Hadrian and his brother Prince Erik.

Although there has been no official confirmation of the visit by the Holy Lanlanian Epire, the news has been widely reported in Oslanburgan news media. According to sources cited in the Oslanburgan government, the Oslanburgan Arch King will make an address to the Holy Lanlanian Empire where he is expected to discuss the importance of bi-lateral relations between the two-nations, and the risks of a out of control far right movement.

The pair will likely be hosted by the Holy Lanlanian Emperor Damen II at Halvadag Palace and meet with the other members of the Holy Lanlanian royal family.

The monarch is also tipped to meet privately with the Holy Lanlanian Prime Minister, and the mayor of the Holy Lanlanian captial city Halvadag. The state visit, the first by Oslanburgan monarchs for 14 years, the last taking place just a few months after Arch King Aerin III coronation. It will be the royal couple's second official visit to the HLE since they got married, and the first visit in a official capacity by their twin sons who shall be accompanying them. Though their roles in the trip are expected to be minor.

The Oslanburgan and Holy Lanlanian Royal Families are directly connected through the marriage of Arch King Aerin III to Princess Imperial Johanna Styrlund in 1563. Princess Imperial Johanna is the older sister of the current Holy Lanlanian Emperor, Damen II.

The royals have made several foreign trips since taking to the throne in 1565, including to the Nylander Republic in 1566, a visit to Gehenna and Ostland in 1567, and Aurentine in 1568.

Herlev, Oslanburg | Lanlanian Airways announced a provisional order worth $13.9 billion at list prices to buy 39 Scholden Luftveark wide-body planes on as it battles other carriers, dealing a blow to other aircraft manufacturers in the key market for big twinjets.

Lanlanian Airways signed a letter of intent with Scholden for 20 SL470-90s and 19 SL480-100s to tap additional passenger growth and to modernize its fleet over the next decade. Additional options for the two aircraft types could take the deal to as many as 51 aircraft. The preliminary order is a boost for Scholden Luftvaerks as it seeks to restore momentum for the on it's order books for the year, which after a strong start has not had a firm order in 2 months.

"The carrier is a demanding customer, and its fleet decisions usually define market trends in the intermediate term," said an airline industry analyst in a note. Airlines typically get discounts on jet orders and the analyst estimated the deal's net value closer to $6.5 billion or about a tenth of the Oslanburgan plane maker's annual volume.

"While the deal may have been highly competitive, it is business in part of the market that strengthens Scholden Luftvaerk's positioning," he said.

Lanlanian Airways significant orders and recent moves to extend some of its fuel-hedging contracts to as long as five years show it is positioning itself for the next phase of growth said another analyst

"What's working for them is that they have very deep pockets and they are putting some of that money to replace fleet and also looking at new destinations," he said.

Lanlanian Airways has been under pressure as demand weakens for long-haul travel amid tough competition from other carriers such as Luft Wurberg.

Foreign Ministry announces PM State Visit to Nyland

Herlev, Oslanburg | Prime Minister Damara will make a State Visit to Nyland from 17th - 25th Elva 1583, in conjunction with the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Oslanburg and Nyland.  This is Prime Minister Larsen's first State Visit to the Nylander Republic and the third ever State Visit by an Oslanburgan Prime Minister.  During the visit, Prime Minister Larsen will visit Nykoping, Flaleandshem and Isort.

   In Nykoping, Prime Minister Larsen will have an audience with and be hosted to a State Banquet by the Nylander President, Anders Kohout. Prime Minister will also meet with other Nylander political and business leaders, and attend a reception for Oslanburgan residing in Nyland.

   In Flaleandshem, the Prime Minister will be hosted to a banquet by the Governor of the State, Flaleandshem City Mayor and the Flaleandshem Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  In Isort, the former capital city of a long passed Oslanburgan colony, the Prime Minister will visit a local Nursery School started up by local Oslanburgan migrants.

   Prime Minister Larsen will be accompanied by her husband, Erik Larsen; the Minister of Foreign Affairs; the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Culture;and senior officials from the Prime Ministert’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Transport. During Larsen's absence, Karsten Brondum, the Deputy Prime Minister will exercise the functions of the office of the Prime Minister.

Larsen has congratulated Alfred Aria Sulkholm on is ascension to the Prime Ministership of the Holy Lanlanian Empire. She reminded the ISP leader of their countries' shared values, while Oslanburgan politicians of all stripes lined up to express their shock.

Herlev, Oslanburg | Prime Minister Damara Larsen has congratulated Alfred Aria Sulkholm on is acesion to the Prime Ministership of the Holy Lanlanian Empire on his win in Holy Lanlanian Parliamentary elections, before underlining the importance of their countries' relationship and reminding the new Prime Minister of their shared values.

"Whoever the Lanlanian people elect to lead them in free and fair elections, that has a significance far beyond the Empire," the Prime Minister said in Herlev a few hours ago.

"Oslanburg and the Holy Lanlanian Empire are bound by their values: democracy, freedom, the respect for the law and the dignity of human beings, independent of their origin, skin color, religion, gender, or political position," she added. "On the basis of these values I offer the new Prime Minister close cooperation."

The initial cooperation between the two countries is likely to be tense. At one point in his election campaign, Sulkholm described Larsen's tenureship as Prime Minister of Oslanburg as "a total disaster," mainly due to her being a woman, and the immediate reaction to his victory across Oslanburg's political spectrum was shock and uncertainty.

Opposition politicians described the ISP victory in drastic terms. As news of the coalition spread, Green party leader Jona Mut called the possibility of his leadership a "break with the tradition that the Geinlnd stands for," and he warned that the HLE could turn its back on the rest of the world.

Meanwhile Social Democrat chairman Bernd Matthew struck a fatalistic tone: "He won't be able to offer anything at all to the people who he's promised all kinds of things." The United Labour Party leader Andreas Carlsson was typically candid when he offered his opinion of the new Holy Lanlanian Prime Minister: "He's a simple soul, not particularly well-educated, he's coarse," he said. "We've never had anything like this in this form as a world leader, even though there have been what I would consider bad Prime Ministers before. I think this will give right-wing populism a new boost."

Luft Wurberg buys 51% stake in Eskair

Herlev, Oslanburg | Luft Wurberg took effective control of Eskkya's loss-making national carrier Eskair yesterday, injecting $750 million in a deal that will see the West Brigidnan airline gain better access to one of Southern Brigidna's major markets. Luft Wurberg, which is buying a 51 percent stake in the Rambouillet-based carrier, said it will restructure Eskair and even laid out the hope of returning it to profitability by 1589. The overall 1.76 billion dollar deal also involves $598 million of debt restructuring and $300 million from Eskair's wide array of smaller shareholders.

Luft Wurberg CEO Micheal Laudrup announced the four-year plan to completely reboot the Eskair brand at a press conference, saying it was a strong airline but "a poor business financially" that needed to be turned around. "If we didn't believe Eskair could restructured and win we wouldn't be here," he said alongside his Eskair counterpart, Amaury Courbet. "One of the bests airlines in Brigidna should be Eskair."

The two signed the deal making Luft Wurberg the single largest and majority shareholder in Eskair after months of negotiations over debt restructuring, proposed job cuts and other issues that sparked fierce opposition from Eskair worker unions. Airline workers have staged wildcat strikes at Rambouillet's main airport this week to protest the deal.

But Eskair announced earlier that it had reached agreement with all of it's main unions to back the deal. "This is a great result," Courbet said. "It means that everyone believes in this great adventure." Courbet acknowledged there would be job cuts, but said employees would be offered work in Oslanburg and across the Luft Wurberg Airline Group.

The deal adds one of Brigidna's most recognizable aviation brands to Luft Wurberg's growing collection of foreign investments that also includes Air Florintus, Air Sigan, North Skathian Airways, Ost Luften, and SOAT. Laudrup said the renewed airline would be able to capitalize on Luft Wurberg's growing conglomerate to reduce overhead and expand reach. Plans call for beefing up Jean-Brice de Maynage International Airport as a hub, increasing Eskair's wide-body fleet by a third, adding more long-haul routes and trimming back less-performing shorter routes.

The aim, he said, was to take advantage of Eskkya as a tourist and trade destination while giving Eskkyan passengers greater options for traveling abroad. The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be completed Elva 27.

Agriculture Minister's whaling comments spark controversy.

Esborg, Oslanburg | Following comments made by Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Nicolai Thorsen at an appearance in Esborg, a running controversy over the ethics and health implications of the whale hunt in northern Oslanburg has been reignited.

"The whale hunt is vital to the livelihood of many people who live in small towns on the north coast.", Thorsen said. "It is also entirely sustainable and actually produces less greenhouse gases than raising cattle for beef. In fact it would be wise to raise the catch quota, which has been at about 500 for many years, to reflect the size of the whale population, and to export whale meat to countries which have poor food security and nutrition."

Thorsen went on to express doubts that the risk of poisoning from high levels of mercury in the flesh and blubber of marine mammals is at the level scientific studies have suggested, contradicting a renewed recommendation issued by the Ministry for Health and Social Welfare last week warning that consumption of whale meat be limited to no more than one serving a month and that young children and pregnant women should refrain from consuming it all, as well as drawing concern from health experts.

"It definitely concerns me that the Agriculture Minister does not sufficiently understand the science involved in food safety.", said Liva Hald, a brain surgeon and health advisor to the environmental group Greeslan. "It has been definitively demonstrated that there are dangerous levels of mercury in the blubber, flesh, and particularly organs of cetaceans. Studies have also shown that their is an unusually high occurrence of Parkinson's disease in many communities on the northern coast. There is a clear and worrying correlation."

Whales have been hunted in northern Oslanbuurg for thousands of years. The whale catch is largely commercial and presently limited by law to 564 animals a year, set when commercial whaling resumed in 1532. Though some coastal communities, communally catch nearly 2,000 animals taken annually being driven ashore by local fishermen and distributed among the community.

In the debate over whaling, both sides have argued environmental data supports their case. The opposition to whaling has also centered on ethical concerns over the methods used to kill the whales (shot with explosive-charge harpoons in the case of larger catches, driven ashore by boats and killed by quickly cutting the spinal cord with a specialized "whale knife" in the case of smaller species) and cetacean intelligence, while supporters have characterized opposition by international environmental groups as a form of cultural imperialism.

PM Larsen announces resignation.

Herlev, Oslanburg | Prime Minister Damara said on last night she was resigning as leader of Oslanburg Democratic Party, kicking off a contest that will see a new leader elected by Marth 15.

Larsen - who had already said she would not lead the ODP into elections due late next year - said she would continue to carry out his duties as prime minister while the leadership contest takes place.

Larsen, prime minister since 1564 and the leader of her party for almost 27 years, fourteen of those years held in captivity by the ONF regime, is expected to be replaced by a younger colleague - most likely Defence Affairs Nis Overgaard, the bookmakers' favorite, or Minister of Finance Elmer Thuesen.
