Party of Honor and KPFP form coalition, Krell Torres appointed Imperator
by Moklor Yatron

Weeks after the first free and fair elections in Kolhari history, the two largest parties in the National Diet and National Council have agreed to form a coalition government after hard negotiations and compromises regarding what will come for Kolhar. The Party of Honor and Kolhari Patriotic Freedom Party, which together make up a majority in both the National Diet and National Council, agreed to a series of compromises and announced the coalition today. The new government has put forward an agenda with economic recovery as the top priority, with education and healthcare being the next priorities.

The coalition is expected to pass a series of laws regarding how aid money can be used to help recover the economy, and formally establish a healthcare and education system that benefits all Kolhari citizens.

Many leaders from what were the rebels have been appointed to prominent positions in the government, with Krell Torres being appointed the Imperator. Krell Torres selected Kaha Parakimete as the Proconsul (deputy to the Imperator), and is expected to fill remaining executive positions with people he feels are best qualified from both parties. He has stated that he will consult with Kaha before making any appointments, and looks forward to working with Kaha in the future.

J'dan Restag proposes economic stimulus package
by Moklor Yatron

J'dan Restag, a Representative in the National Diet, as announced a proposal that he has crafted to attempt to jump-start the Kolhari economy. The proposal involves redirecting current government spending, which has so far been spent mostly on rebuilding the infrastructure that was destroyed in the Kolhari War, towards more economic programs. This includes new grants for small businesses that are just starting up and loans for established businesses seeking to expand their operations. It also involves making investments in Kolhari business tax deductible, along with liberalization of foreign trade beyond what has been done under membership in the KEC.

"This plan was carefully crafted after consulting top Kolhari economists and examining the success stories of other countries." said J'dan "My hope is that we can rapidly grow our economy, and even surpass the fascist South in less than a decade."

The proposals include many provisions. Among the most popular provisions are the establishment of small business grants for Kolhari citizens seeking to start up new business ventures. The grant would be given to individuals seeking to start their own businesses in Kolhar, and would be intended to cover nothing more than the up-front costs of establishing a small business. To qualify for the grant, one would have to demonstrate good credit.

For those seeking to expand a business that they have already established, the proposal would establish a system of loans to encourage such ventures. These loans would be low-interest and available to all small business owners who demonstrate decent credit. These loans would be given on terms of 5 years, with extensions being permitted on a case-by-case basis.

Among the more controversial of provisions include liberalization of trade and new tax deductions. The proposal would allow investors to claim a percentage of any investments in Kolhari businesses as tax deductible. It would also loosen trade regulations and seek to make it easier for businesses to import and export goods. This is on top of the trade liberalizations already done by Kolhar's membership in the Kvaennan Economic Community.

The Party of Honor and Kolhar United are hailing this as a much-needed economic reform package, citing that the country needs a direction to bring the economy. Much of the infrastructure that was destroyed in the war has been rebuilt in the past 6 years, and many experts have stated that the money needs to be directed to more places if the Kolhari economy is to gain any momentum.

However, the proposal is now without its critics. The Labor Party condemned the proposal, calling it a "tax break for the rich" and "a sell-out to global corporations". In particular, Labor has condemned the tax deductions and the trade liberalizations, claiming that they will do nothing to help the average Kolhari citizen.

BREAKING: Government Reports that Protest in Quvak Put Down with Force!!
by Moklor Yatron

The government has announced that, according to information gained from a currently unnamed defector, a protest occurred in the city of Quvak that was put down with strong police force by the fascists.

The protests, reportedly calling for the reversal of a government policy in the south that caused food prices to dramatically rise, started in the late morning of the 20th of Dosa. The protesters were reportedly peaceful for the duration of the protests, however the police, rather than allowing the protests to continue normally, used force to stop the protests from occurring.

The number arrested in the south is unknown, but video evidence released by the government shows fascist police physically beating protesters that are on the ground before arresting them. However, reportedly there was little to no deadly injuries.

Imperator Kadar Krass has called on the government of the south to end all repression and release all political prisoners in the south.

"It's completely unacceptable for the south to violate the basic freedoms of our people in this manner. They must stop, now." he said.

Area Outside of Southern Legislature Occupied by Demonstrators
by T'egroq kerod

The are around the legislature used by the South has been occupied by anti-government demonstrators, according to new reports from defectors that took the risky journey through the border. The protests, which started as protests demanding moves to reduce food prices in the south, have morphed into one demanding democracy in the south.

Though the Southern authorities have repeatedly and brutally cracked down on the protests, they have not lessened. In fact, reports indicate that anywhere between 10,000 to 15,000 people gathered at the legislature for the latest protest that we have information of. However, originally the number of people present was estimated at between 15,000 to 20,000 people, before a brutal crackdown.

Kolhar News Emporium has gained information, with photographic and video evidence, of police using tear gas, pepper spray, and water cannons against protesters in another brutal crackdown. The number injured is currently unknown.

Imperator Kadar Krass made another statement calling for the government of the South to open dialogue with the protesters, but warning that any deliberate killing of protesters would result in consequences.

"We cannot have this state continue in the South. People have a right to protest, there are no exceptions to this. The government of the South must engage in dialogue with the protesters, that is the only way to truly resolve this." he said "The people have already made it clear that they will not stop until they are heard. The South should already know very well what happens when you don't listen to the people.
