| NPC Country: Octitania NPC Location: Ostara NPC Government: Constitutional Monarchy Campaign Setting: Marth 15th, 1599 Informational Links: http://wiki.eternityrpc.com/wiki/Octitania NPC History Ocititania, officially known as The Empire of Ocititania(or the United Imperial Duchies of Ocititania) is a federal semi-absolute elective monarchy. It includes 7 semi-autonomous duchies and one unitary federal district containing the capitol. It covers roughly 350,000 square kilometers with a Mediterranean vegetation climate. Its capital is Polachia and the largest city is Laganda. With almost spanning roughly 45 Million people, Ocititania remains the most populous nation in the (blank) island. Various Duchies formed around the 7th Century after the fall of the Arthian Imperium. However, in the late 9th Century the unknown Identity of "Tholagorites" documented that excessive raid and land takeover resulted in the extinction of numerous duchies. It was only after 30 years when a coalition of Duchies united against the Tholagorite kingdom, was the term Ocititania was used to define a greater realm. In 972, the Tholoagorites where expelled from the land and pan-Ocititania became more relevant. In 1000's pan-Octitanism became popular throughout various Duchies. Finally, on the 7th of May, 1041 the Empire was formed under ''certain political conditions''. In 1578, Unrest turned to civil war after the Emperor of the Nobility, and his assassination. The House of Dukes determined to hold onto power rejects the constitution agreed on by the Republicans and the Emperor. Arkiania soon intervenes and evacuates the government. Soon after Angiris intervenes guaranteeing the Republicans. 1 month later, the parties agree to a constitutional monarchy ending the conflict. Campaign Plot Since the formation of the Constitutional Monarchy, relations between Arkiania and Octitania rapidly deteriorated and soon turned to hostility after invasion and annexation of Achia. This lead to a massive political change inside of Octitania, as its people see the inevitable Arkiania invasion. Nationalist fervor grew, and a political faction the ultra conservatives began rising in power. With the royal family giving endorsements to ultra-conservative politicians and Arkianian interference in elections and attempts to shift opinion, the stage was set for direct confrontation with Arkiania. In 1597 the ultra-conservatives were elected, taking a hardliner approach against Arkiania and began subversion efforts including smuggling weapons into Achia to Achian partisans which were for the most part defeated. Other efforts included giving sanctuary inside Octitania n borders to partisans and arming them with vehicles and weapons, and spreading anti-Arkianian messages through pirate radio broadcasts and pamphlets. The situation escalated even further on Septem 1st, 1598 when an Arkianian unit pursuing Partisan's unintentionally trespassed into Octitanian territory, and were engaged by Octitanian soldiers. A small border engagement ensued before Octitanian troops were ordered to stand down. Afterward, all diplomatic contact between the two nations were cut off and their diplomats called back. The buildup of equipment and soldiers on each nations borders ensued. On Marth 15th, 1599 a larger scale border conflict of the same type as before, escalates to a full conflict. The two nations simultaneously declare war with both blaming each other for firing the first shots. Potential for Other Player Involvement United Allied States consisting of Mestra, Drahen, and Arkiania. Possibility of Kazemuran involvement |

The High King of Arkiania has nationalist aspirations to unite Krinisians and the Isle under one banner and turn Arkiania into a regional and world power. How your country may evolve from success Arkiania would restructure itself into a new state, and system, one which would likely see the power of the monarchy limited as response to likely unrest and overextension in the Isle. How your country may evolve from defeatA defeat would likely see the collapse of the Arkianian monarchy and cause instability to the Isle as a whole. |
