The Contest


Arena Jeekabpils, home to the city's largest footballing club FK Jeekabpils, sits in the arena district next to downtoen, just blocks from accomodations, shopping, restaurants, and the the historic Walled City.


Arena Jeekabpils will host nearly 30,000 excited visitors this Vintyr.

In the first phase of the competition, the Studio Phase, the selected artist or group will produce a song to be broadcast on the Sioran Broadcasting Alliance's partner stations and to be streamed via the official Voice of Siora website. Two weeks before the final event, this batch of entries will be open to public vote - but these performers will need to save their best for last, because unlike many competitions, this Preliminary Vote does not assure final victory, nor does it serve to eliminate the underdogs!

With five lucky nations taking an extra six points with them as the crowd-pleasing favorites, all of the artists will need to come up with a brand new song for the Live Phase of the competition. In this round, the musical representatives will go head-to-head with their international counterparts in a live showdown complete with audiovisuals, choreographed routines, and maybe even pyrotechnics to earn the final votes of each nation's representative committee.

Which nation will take home the gold? Which nation will come out as the dark horse? Which nations will thrill and wow the audience? One thing's for sure - Siora is in for a treat!

The Host


Young singing sensation Aneka Balode is ready to welcome the world to Videjszeme

Videjszeme was selected to host the eight Voice of Siora International Music Competition after taking gold in 1586 with the young singing sensation Aneka Balode, becoming the second- smallest host country to date behind Karjelinn. However, it doesn't take big populations and big talent to put on a big show! Videjszeme is a country full of the preserved history of central Brigidna, of verdant valley and snow-capped peaks. Arriving in the middle of winter, visitors are sure to enjoy the sparkling white vistas rolling beneath them from their hillside resorts and baths, or enjoying sleigh rides across the hundreds of frozen lakes and along the sparking valley streams. The 1588 competition will be held in Arena Jeekabpils near downtown Jeekabpils, with Aneka Balode ready to invite the world to experience her home.

The time has finally come for the Live Phase of the 1588 Voice of Siora international music competition!  Droves of hopefuls from all across Siora have poured into Jeekabpils in southern Videjszeme to cheer on their nation’s competitors and favorite artists in the world's largest musical spectacle.  Big wins in the Preliminary Vote still fresh in the minds of those in attendance have only amped up the buzzing excitement even further, and memories of Aneka Balode's inspired performance in Eskkya in 1586 have created big expectations for this year’s production, with the most hyped field of competitors in many years.

After a night of song and celebration, the current contestants were brought onstage and received big cheers and huge applause from the audience. The songs they will be performing were announced as each artist or group of artists took the stage with big smiles and bigger pride in their homelands.

The air is alive with excitement, the songs have been announced, and the artists are raring to go.  By the end of the day, Siora will have chosen its winner and the next champion of the Voice of Siora international music competition will be crowned. Best of luck to all participants in the Live Phase!

After months of anticipation, the eighth Voice of Siora Song Contest concludes in Videjszeme!

Esof behind the stage...with a special guest!


The day of the competition opened with a showcase performance from 1584 entries Aulji taking a tour of a small part of the folk music, life, and traditions in Videjszeme:



1586 winner Aneka Balode welcomed the visiting contestants fterwards, following Aulji's performance with kind words and one of her own songs to begin the competition:



Next saw each nation - some still riding the high of having taken with them the six points from the preliminary vote and others anxiously hoping to come out as the dark horse of the competition - perform onstage with a vast range of visual and audio effects at their disposal: huge crystal screen displays, hundreds of lights, trapdoors and moving floor pieces, projectors and pyrotechnics. And of course, they brought with them their own visionary talent.


Shiri Maimon's uplifting pop vocals got the audience swaying.




Opstand returns from Oslanburg to electrify the audence once more!




As long as The Dreadnoughts keep gracing Millerainia with their presence, polka surely will never die.




You don't need instruments to be a band, as Mordvania's Srecka Band IS the instrument!




The highlands of Strathae come down to these Selji valleys courtesy of Ri Thighinn...with a modern twist.





Although every performance was spectacular in their own right, there could be only one winner at the end of the night, and that honor has been awarded to an Ostaran artist for the first time ever with Kazemura, for their entry The Hero by Esof. Esof's energetic vocals and powerful metal riffs rocked the audience, while their enthusiastic stage presence got everyone jumping to their beat. The competition saw Eretzora pull forward in the initial voting, with Strathae nippin at the heels, but over the course of the public and judge vote saw several challengers rise to meet them; Kazemura's slow clumb from the back to eventually climb from zero to hero in the closing moments to win the competition by two points ahead will certainly be a showstopping performance to remember!




And so we give another hearty congratulations to our first place winner, Esof and Kazemura! We look forward to seeing you host the ninth competition in a landmark year, 1590!

The Voice of Siora committee also extends a big congratulations to second-place winner Shiri Maimon from Eretzora, and third-place winner Opstand of Oslanburg.
