The Contest


The South Sea Center for the Performing Arts, shown here during early Fein, sits in the middle of downtown Isort, just blocks from accomodations, shopping, restaurants, and the city's port.


Landry Hall inside the South Sea center will house nearly 3,000 excited visitors this Vintyr.

In the first phase of the competition, the Studio Phase, the selected artist or group will produce a song to be broadcast on the Sioran Broadcasting Alliance's partner stations and to be streamed via the official Voice of Siora website. Two weeks before the final event, this batch of entries will be open to public vote - but these performers will need to save their best for last, because unlike many competitions, this Preliminary Vote does not assure final victory, nor does it serve to eliminate the underdogs!

With five lucky nations taking an extra six points with them as the crowd-pleasing favorites, all of the artists will need to come up with a brand new song for the Live Phase of the competition. In this round, the musical representatives will go head-to-head with their international counterparts in a live showdown complete with audiovisuals, choreographed routines, and maybe even pyrotechnics to earn the final votes of each nation's representative committee.

Which nation will take home the gold? Which nation will come out as the dark horse? Which nations will thrill and wow the audience? One thing's for sure - Siora is in for a treat!

The Host


After 12 years of waiting and a 30 year career, superstars Kent are ready to host the 1584 competition!

Nyland was selected to host the sixth Voice of Siora International Music Competition after taking gold in 1582 with superstar act Kent, becoming the first country in the world to be a repeat contest winner. Nyland is a vast country of wildly different peoples and climates, and reality easily seen in the change of hosting venue from sunny and tropical Nykoping in 1578, to the southern subarctic city of Isort for 1584. Even out here near the bottom of the world, the flavors and varieties of the "country of many" are on display with a plethora of cultural events, exotic native and world cuisines, and almost endless array of outdoor activities to satisfy even the most avid explorer or outdoorsman. The 1584 competition will be held at the South Sea Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Isort, the world's southernmost metropolitan city, with Kent playing host to the night's festivities with what will be their final concert of their last-ever musical tour.

The time has finally come for the Live Phase of the 1584 Voice of Siora international music competition! Droves of hopefuls from all across Siora have poured into Isort to cheer on their nation’s competitors and favorite artists in a two-day spectacle. Big wins in the Preliminary Vote still fresh in the minds of those in attendance within Landry Hall have only amped up the buzzing excitement even further, and memories of the dazzling 1582 Voice of Siora competition in Karjelinn have created big expectations for this year’s production, amped by the knowledge of who today's hosts of honor are.

Night 1 became a marathon of sogn and celebration, not only of Kent's 1582 competition win, but of their enduring 30 year career as part of Nyland's modern musical tradition. The final tour for Nyland's most enduring and popular rock act, the night opened with a performance of the song that saw them secure victory in 1582, and quickly became a 3 hour tribute to not only their career, but the fans and the country that made it all possible. Here's to you, Nyland.

At the end of the night, the current contestants were brought onstage and received big cheers and huge applause from the audience. The songs they will be performing were announced as each artist or group of artists took the stage with big smiles and bigger pride in their homelands.

The air is alive with excitement, the songs have been announced, and the artists are raring to go. By the end of Day 2, Siora will have chosen its winner and the next champion of the Voice of Siora will be crowned. Best of luck to all participants in the Live Phase!

Siora Has Spoken: Eskkya Takes the Win!

After months of anticipation, the sixth Voice of Siora Song Contest concludes in Nyland!

---

Roselyne Lavigne of Eskkya basks in the glow of the audience.


The day of the competition saw each nation - some still riding the high of having taken with them the six points from the preliminary vote and others anxiously hoping to come out as the dark horse of the competition - perform onstage with a vast range of visual and audio effects at their disposal: huge crystal screen displays, hundreds of lights, trapdoors and moving floor pieces, projectors and pyrotechnics. And of course, they brought with them their own visionary talent.


Vitas' operatic skill and range surpised an thrilled everyone.




Static and Ben-El Tavori bring some summer love to the deep south.




Mika does Valland proud, always bringing energy and emotion to every performance.




The more Nentsia's Nikša Šaponjić emotes, the less he sees.




Modern technology meets Videjszeme's tribal folk music when Aulji takes the stage!




Danny Emerald brings the...weird.




East Tambossa's legendary Sunny Ade brings a touch of Central Skathia back to the competition.



Although every performance was spectacular in their own right, there could be only one winner at the end of the night, and that honor has been awarded for the first time to Eskkya, for their entry Tiled by Roselyne Lavigne. Roselyne's silky vocals and trancelike beats captured the audience, while her Jack Michaelsson-esque dancing skills thrilled the judges. Severyane took an early lead in the voting, but the race to the gold medal closed up when Eskkya swung into the lead; the competition closed the gap in the final voting minutes but they just couldn't overcome Eskkya's lead and leaving Valland to finish just one solitary point behind in second, marking this the closest margin in competition history.




And so we give another hearty congratulations to our first place winner, Eskkya! We look forward to seeing you host the next competition!

The Voice of Siora committee also extends a big congratulations to second-place winner Mika from Valland, and third-place winner Vitas of Severyane.
