So, uh, what's this about and what's going on and how might I get involved?

Elke's adventure is part of the latest blackspawn infestation. Elke is the Hero™ chosen by Siora (the Big Good) to...somehow get Sidgard to stop ignoring the (magical) signs and prepare to fight the infestation before it arrives. Of course, she's possibly not the only Hero™ working to those ends.

The Infestation is projected to happen between the Confederacy and the Sinne, thereby weakening both of them. The Order, which is manipulating Sidgard, plans to take advantage of that weakness and invade them. It's /that/ war that Siora wants to avoid, because The Greater Picture™.

How you can get involved depends on how you want to get involved. You could be a Miniboss Blackspawn, like you'd originally considered, or a member of Elke's reverse-harem The Team™. Alternatively, you can be a a Knight Templar in the Order, or a Lawful Neutral in the Confederacy.

If there's a specific kind of character you're interested in, we can try to fit it in.

Perhaps I could be a Blackspawn. Being a member of the Order seems kind of interesting, as well; stopping those meddling kids from interfering in Rightful Holy Liberation™.

You could do both. Being a blackspawn might be fun if you're after getting to kill and destroy things, but you can't really do much beyond that. The blackspawn are tools of the Wicked One trying to corrupt Andlosheim so he can return, after all. Although, that partially only applies to an infestation near Sidgard. Elsewhere in Andlosheim (which is supposed to be HUGE), its possible the Blackspawn managed to gain a legitimate presence that's damn near impossible for local powers to dislodge. And it could've been led by an Andlosheim native who Succumbed to the Chaos (persons who /became/ Blackspawn, rather than came to Andlosheim from beyond, are supposed to be more intelligent...and powerful).

That might be pretty interesting, actually; but unfortunately isn't likely to play a role in this infestation. If you play as the blackspawn for this campaign, you could RP their reking if the Confederacy and the Sinne, until they get squashed by their combined armies.

The Order probably expects Siora to try to manipulate Sidgard against them, but wouldn't really know how or where. It does have agents throughout Sidgard, though, including its court. You could be such a an agent; though Sal and I haven't even left the fountain yet. *cough* We could RP your character's travels before they cross though. You'd need to be real high rank to know that the Order is manipulating Sidgard or that an Infestation is about to happen, though. The rank and file are just trying to keep the peace. :C

Go ahead and design an Order character. Post it in this thread. I just realized some organizational messes that could come from putting all Sidgardian characters from all its potential campaigns in one thread.

Brief Bio Rogar has been in the service of the Order since he was a boy. A plague swept through his homeland (a petty kingdom of little significance), leaving him and many other children orphaned. While the elders cursed some evil god and the other children were crowded into already-full orphan houses, Rogar escaped to the wider world. He had no legitimate means of survival, so he turned to petty crime. He eventually ended up in Sidgard, where he was caught by members of the order attempted to steal bread from a church. Rather than cutting off his hand, he was taken in by the Order. He was inducted as an Apprentice like all recruits, and after his first few years he chose the way of the warrior. Rogar had no interest in words, and the way of the cloth seemed too philosophical to him. Rogar desired actions; to end the worship of evil gods which had brought pestilence to his home; to remove heresies which caused disbelief and invited Chaos. Over the years, much trust was placed in Rogar. He was known for being a capable commander and was respected for his discretion. As a Captain, he is entrusted with important missions.

I suppose that's fine. He could be one of the many agents the Order has deployed throughout Sidgard, both to fight evil and to be the eyes and ears of the Order. Alternatively, he could have been specifically tasked with finding the heretical girl who has the potential of greatly inconveniencing the Order.

Either or is fairly curious, to be frank. Feel any inclination, Sal?

I'm fine with whichever route. Unless you give me something to do in the plot that's going to involve anyone other than me and you, though, it could take a while before anyone else gets to participate. Unless everyone else who had concurrent but separate activities playing out returns.

Regarding my posting, I'll get to it when I can. I haven't spent many weekends home since June and I've been picking up some extra duties at work recently so my evenings are pretty shot. That's life.
