1582 SIFA World Cup Qualifying

The 1582 SIFA World Cup Qualifying is a series of tournaments that occur in each of the five federations (Avidna, Brigidna, Kvaenna, Ostara, and Skathia). Each qualification tournament is different, as each federation has a different quantity of qualifying nations as well as different amounts of qualification spots.

The host of the 1582 SIFA World Cup, Angiris, need not qualify, as it already has an automatic spot as host. The other 31 spots are assigned as follows:

Avidna - 1
Brigidna - 12
Kvaenna - 3
Ostara - 6
Skathia - 3
Wild Cards - 6

The various regions are also allotted several "wild card" places. These places allow teams that nearly qualified to get a second chance at qualification. These teams are placed into two groups of six and play a double round robin to determine which six get to reach the world cup in Angiris. Below is a qualification summary of all included teams:

AVIDNA QUALIFICATION

The Avidnan Federation has been given one automatic qualification spot, as well as one wild card spot.  The process of qualifying from Avidna involves four rounds. The teams are sorted based on their SIFA Ranking. The first two rounds eliminate most of the teams from the Mandavine Federation, after which the top three Mandavine sides move on to face the Avidnan competitors.

The first round features the twelve lowest ranked teams playing in a two-legged playoff. The winners of the first round move on to the second round, where they play other winners from round one in a similar two-legged playoff. The winners of round two move on to play the three lowest ranked Avidnan sides for the opportunity to play in the fourth and final round. The fourth round sees the winners of the third round join the top three ranked Avidnan sides in a two-legged round robin. The top team at the end of the round robin receives the automatic bid, while the second placed team receives the wild card spot.

BRIGIDNA QUALIFICATION

The Brigidnan Federation has been given twelve automatic qualification spots in the 1582 SIFA World Cup, as well as four wild card qualification spots. There is only one qualification round in the Brigidnan qualification tournament. Each Brigidnan nation is ranked based on their SIFA ranking. Then they are placed into seeded pots based on those rankings. The pots are divided into nine groups randomly, with one nation from each pot being placed into each group (with the exception of pot six, which only has a total of five nations.)

These groups then play a double round robin. The top team from each group receives an automatic bid for the 1582 SIFA World Cup. The top three second place teams also receive an automatic bid. The next four second place teams receive the wild card bids from Brigidna.

OSTARA QUALIFICATION

The Avidnan Federation has been given six automatic qualifier spots, as well as three wild card spots. This makes for a potential maximum of ten Ostaran sides in the world cup, considering Angiris is host.

The Avidnan qualification process involves three rounds. The first round matches up the twelve lowest ranked nations in a two-legged playoff. The winners of that playoff moves on to the second round, where they will play the next six highest ranked teams in another two-legged playoff. The winners of the second round move on to the third round.

The third round sees the winners of the second round join the top nine nations in Ostara in a round robin. The fifteen surviving nations are placed into three groups of five. The top two sides from each group are given automatic qualifier spots for the 1582 SIFA World Cup. The third place teams are given wild card spots.
