None Non-PC Campaigns and Post-Conflict Updates
#1
This thread contains the forms you need to use if you wish to request something from the Directorate.

Instructions

Copy the form you need and post it as a new thread here in the Directorate. Please check that you use the right thread prefix for your request.

Use an NPC Campaign form if you wish to play with or as an established NPC for whatever reason. Currently Aion has no NPCs, so this isn't likely the thing you're looking to do.

Use an Expansion Campaign form if your goal in the campaign is to annex an unoccupied (or NPC) area. War and conflict with another PC country - including for the aim of annexation - only requires your coordination with your RP partners and this form is not needed.

Use the Post-conflict Statistics Update if you've just finished any sort of major conflict such as a war or a civil war or mass terrorism or aliens or whatever, and you need Mods or Admins to update the maps and statistics for you.

Use an Other Request form if you have a request for some kind of admin action that doesn't fit within one one of the other forms.

More information on the individual forms can be found in the post dedicated to it.

Expansion Campaign

What is an Expansion Campaign?
An Expansion Campaign is an action where a Player determines that he/she wishes to expand their country's borders into an area that is not claimed or occupied by another Player's country. An Expansion Campaign can be set at any reasonable point in in-game history, though some reasonable restrictions may be applied as we discuss such things. Additionally, we give some pretty big leeway in allowing Players to determine these campaigns and it's fine for people to want to be bigly countries (or not).

What might influece whether or not my application is accepted or denied?
Preferably we won't need to deny any expansion requests; we all want to have fun and write and tell our countries' stories. Hopefully, most requests get approved and we get treated to some fun and interesting writing.

Ideally, the only time you'll see a denial for an expansion is if:
  1. You are requesting expansion after expansion. There's technically no limit to the amount of concurrent campaigns you have, and we're always willing to work with you so you can write the stories you like. However, lets' try to respect others,exercise some restraint and not gobble up all the "best" land immediately just because we can; chill for a minute, maybe focus on some internal aspects of your country, and come back later.
  2. Someone else has an active expansion campaign in that area. This isn't a problem - simply join in that person's expansion, either with or against them, and sort it out between you two. Maybe you never will, and this becomes a point of contention for future RP?
  3. Your country is reasonably not able to perform the expansion. This isn't the same as risking an expansion that you might fail - I'm all for allowing you to fail. What I mean is, what you have in mind fundamentally cannot work. Don't be discouraged, we'll work through the specifics together to get a workable scenario for you.
This isn't all inclusive, as there may be other reasons. The overarching point, though, is that we'll likely work with you to get you writing.

Further Notes
I don't know. I had some ideas, but I forgot them. I guess the main point is, as I alluded above, submitting an application to expand into an unclaimed area is not a big "reserved" sign; if someone feels like challenging you for that area, then you better be prepared to defend your claim.

NPC Campaign

If you'd like to roleplay some sort of thread involving either a Non-Player Country or otherwise create campaigns as the people of an unclaimed plot, you must first obtain the Directorate's approval through this thread. Anyone may propose a Campaign; having your own country on Aion is not required, and a Player's own country is not required to participate.

NPC Campaigns are not required to have an end goal; one may propose one for the sole purpose of shaking things up, or just exploring some setting for a story that doesn't involve your own country or require you to create one. A Campaign may be set any time in history, past or present (though I recommend respecting player histories for "past" campaigns).

You may propose a new NPC be spawned for the purpose of a campaign. This can be discussed at length in this thread. Likely this NPC will not continue to persist after your campaign; if you wish to return to playing this "country" multiple times, then I suggest simply buting the bullet and creating your own country.

Code:
[table=NPC Campaign Submission]
[tr][td][b]NPC Country[/b]: <name>
[b]NPC Location:[/b] <plot # of NPC; delete this if somehow the NPC that already exists on the map>
[b]NPC Government[/b]: <Democracy, monarchy, dictatorship, etc.>

[b]Campaign Setting:[/b] <century, year, or general time period; "now" is a valid time period>
[b]Informational Links:[/b] <if any exist; such as a wiki page, factbook, of discussion thread>

[u]NPC History[/u]
<if the NPC does not already exist or have a background, post one here>

[u]Campaign Plot[/u]
<give a summary of how it'll start and how it may evolve. If you have nefarious plans, you do not need to spoil yourself, but make it clear you are withholding information and we will request it in a PM>

<how might other players get involved?>

Post-conflict Statistics Update

This entire form exists purely for you to notify Mods and Admins of changes to your country's information, be it statistics or borders. This could be due to the ravages or a war fought in your borders, changes to your country for winning or losing land, the changes to your statistics from the outcomes of a devastating internal famine or civil war, and so on.

Fill out and post this form so the Directorate can address whatever unfortunate event that done messed you right up.

If your state is being partitioned, fill out the following form for each resulting partition.

Code:
[b]State:[/b] <Name>
[b]Population:[/b] <at start of conflict/event>
[b]GDP:[/b] <at start of conflict/event>

[b]Length of war/event:[/b] <YEAR - YEAR>

[u]On a scale of 1-10, how intense was the conflict/event?[/u]
<was it a minor insurgency or did you have enemy tanks rolling through your capital? were you subject to surgical strikes or were you carpet bombed?>

[u]How much of your state did the conflict/event affect?[/u]
<was it fought throughout it? Only on its border? Only in some region or another?>

[u]How many civilian and military deaths do you estimate?[/u]
<a number or a general estimate, with supporting information>

[u]How many civilians do you estimate were internationally displaced?[/u]
<a number or a general estimate, with supporting information>

Other Request

If the request you have doesn't fit in one of the other forms, use this form. It can be used for opening a discussion on a particular subject you wish to discuss with the Directorate. Stop private-messaging your questions to admins about RP things, unless you really really really got some super-sekrit thing that absolutely no one else must ever know about.

We got discussion threads for that. ffs.

Code:
[u]Relevant State[/u]:
<which state is this for?>

[u]Request[/u]:
<what do you want?>

[u]How would it affect things[/u]?
<how would it affect things?>

[u]Supporting Argument[/u]:
<why should I give it to you?>

You can find a more extensive list of stuff that's happened in role play here...if people bothered to add it.
