Announcement: Creation of a new modern RP setting

So I'm really pressed short for time and Rommy didn't come about to start this thread yet, so I'm going to start this and scoot.

After a string of discussions on the Discord, it's been decided to create a new world and setting for modern nation roleplaying. Currently Rommy is spending his free time to draft the map and build the stats and otherwise act as moderator for this new setting, which I'm sure he will place here to get everyone's attention and input because having everything on Discord is a sure way to make sure no one knows what is happening. In any case, we will be coming up with the setup for it all - the forums and whatnot - in a hot minute, but for now everything has been moved to a specific category within the archives to allow Rommy room to do the things he wants to do in the main section.

I've unlocked those archives for the creation of new posts and threads, and everything acts there just as it did in its original home.

If you would like to help Rommy as a member of staff to create what needs created, then please let me know. We need staff members, and I'll have a thread on that specifically later on.


Old Siora roleplay may still continue, and will have its own section.
At some point tomorrow during my 4 hours of commuting time, I might settle upon a final resting place for old Siora roleplays. It will likely be reduced down to 1 category (from 4), and have a separate home. We won't be using the real-time forum clock/calendar anymore; feel free to post at whatever dates to fill in whatever stories you like, and tell the stories at your own pace.

The archive is a temporary home for everything, though eventually most Siora stuff will end up there. When I get the final home set up for it all, and something doesn't get moved over, let me know which thread you need moved to the active area, and I'll do it. More on that will come at a later time, and I'm likely not explaining well in my rush.


Anyway, more info will be coming, including the map(s) and how to sign up for this revival.
If you have a problem with restarting, Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V is an option, but this new world is happening. I now turn it over to Rommy to show us the wonderful work he's done, and explain the differences between Siora and this new world.

What's up my guys!

Going to try and get this out of the way as quick as possible since I got work here pretty soon.

We do need a name, I'm taking any and all suggestions ( old Siora alternate names ).

Onto the RP, it will be another modern tech roleplay unless people have massive objective to the idea. I've already constructed some maps for the world, you can claim specific predesigned plots no border making every time a new person joins or leaves. The world is the same size as Earth, same details, same orbit etc.




You can see who has signed up so far here HEY LINK CLICK ME . There's no set location for specific cultures or ethnic groups, things are definitely going to be more in the mold of the old Oracia days, just find a plot you link pretty much and have fun.

IDK if we just want to go the Siora route and say this is just a planet who happened to development similar to Earth or whatnot, or say its some far flung lost colony of Earth. The major point I do wish to get across is that the RP calandar will match the RL calendar minus maybe the exact number for the year or something. But time will progress as it does it real life so we don't lose control of the simulation.

Siora is not gone, its still there but I think its time to move on I think its time to give this community a shot of adrenaline. To help with that, I had the idea for the Game Master/Moderates of this new roleplay to input certain crisis conditions like a rogue state or other stuff we can get a far more quantifiable grasp on than stuff like economic crisis' and stuff. We are all here to have fun, and I want crisis's that promote that. Any questions feel free to post here. I am sure as hell I didn't cover anything. If you want to claim a plot go ahead check the spreadsheet and the map and input your stuff. Feel free to ctrl+c and ctrl+v countries.

Can you tell me anything about the continents?

The purple one is based geographically and climate wise on North America/Europe

The southern light green one is based on Sub-Sahara Africa/South America

and the Teal/Turquoise one is based on the Middle East towards the north, central Asia in the middle, and East Asia towards well the East/South.

They are need names lol

The South America analogy I was thinking of calling "Viracho" based on the name for the Inca God for well...Everything "Virachocha" *shrugs*

I like the idea of Sonko or Sunko for the Asia analogue unless someone has a pretty good idea stemming from more Mid. Eastern cultures which I would like an idea from.

The Europe/North America I'm interesting in some ideas for. I think that would should depend what ends up being the root language for the name of the planet.

Xia was the Alterran Asia as well, Xhosea was one of the members/nations.
