Voice of Siora International Music Competition
1582 - Karjelinn
A winner has been chosen!
After two days of performances and cheering, Nyland has become the first nation in Voice of Siora International Music Competition history to become a repeat gold winner! Their group Kent, with a unique sound that marries gritty punk with soulful alternative sounds for a truly one-of-a-kind experience, earned them the honor of first place, narrowly beating Kyrzbekistan's Lälä with a two point lead. In a brief statement made by the band's front man, Kent are "happy that we had this opportunity. This felt like a bit of a redemption moment for us, and I think it shows how much we've matured and improved even now, even since the last time we competed. We are overjoyed, really."
Kent competed previously in the first Voice of Siora competition in 1574 at Luah'u. The next competition will mark the group's ten-year anniversary with involvement in the competition - and what better way to celebrate than by having the competition hosted in their home country?
Host Eggy, who kept everyone thoroughly bouncy from warm-ups through encores, gave the farewell speech to close the 1582 competition onstage with Kent, and stirred up one last big round of applause for all of the year's talented artists.
With the conclusion of the competition, we now look forward to the 1584 competition to be hosted, once again, by Nyland. Congratulations, Kent, and great job to the other competitors!
