Voice of Siora 5 - Karjelinn - Sal - 01-21-2017 Voice of Siora International Music Competition 1582 - Karjelinn The Contest Uutalinn’s Ahtojää Events Hall is located right over the bay where visitors can watch ships arrive at this busy port. Ahtojää Events Hall’s main theater, Itään, will be set up to accommodate just over 1,900 visitors. In the first phase of the competition, the Studio Phase, the selected artist or group will produce a song to be broadcast on the Sioran Broadcasting Alliance's partner stations and to be streamed via the official Voice of Siora website. Two weeks before the final event, this batch of entries will be open to public vote - but these performers will need to save their best for last, because unlike many competitions, this Preliminary Vote does not assure final victory, nor does it serve to eliminate the underdogs! With five lucky nations taking an extra six points with them as the crowd-pleasing favorites, all of the artists will need to come up with a brand new song for the Live Phase of the competition. In this round, the musical representatives will go head-to-head with their international counterparts in a live showdown complete with audiovisuals, choreographed routines, and maybe even pyrotechnics to earn the final votes of each nation's representative committee. Which nation will take home the gold? Which nation will come out as the dark horse? Which nations will thrill and wow the audience? One thing's for sure - Siora is in for a treat! The Host Eggy is feeling bouncy and ready to serve as the host of the 1582 Voice of Siora contest! Karjelinn was selected to host the fifth Voice of Siora International Music Competition after taking gold in 1580 with their bouncy artist Tapio Vaara, better known to his audience as Eggy. Although formerly thought to be a nation of only snowy wilderness and long-lasting darkness, cold Karjelinn has more recently become a tourist hotspot offering a plethora of cultural events, exotic food, and every kind of outdoor activity one could hope for. The 1582 competition will be held at the Ahtojää Events Hall in the historic port town of Uutalinn, Karjelinn’s capital with Eggy serving as the ringleader of the night's events - and even providing some entertainment of his own. As they say in Karjelinn, onnea - good luck, Siora! Lift up your voices, Siora!™ RE: Voice of Siora 5 - Karjelinn - Sal - 02-23-2017 Voice of Siora International Music Competition 1582 - Karjelinn Studio Phase Entries The following songs are entries for the Studio Phase of the Voice of Siora song contest. These will be up for Preliminary Vote before the Live Phase later this year. Participating nations are reminded to have all Live Phase entries in by the close of the Preliminary Vote. Good luck, and we look forward to hearing more from Siora's talented artists later! A’sir

Lift up your voices, Siora!™ RE: Voice of Siora 5 - Karjelinn - Sal - 03-18-2017 Voice of Siora International Music Competition 1582 - Karjelinn - Live Phase With the skies dark at only 16:00, Ahtojää Events Hall is set alight in the colors of the aurora borealis - a Karjelinnian specialty - just hours before the doors open! The time has finally come for the Live Phase of the 1582 Voice of Siora international music competition! Droves of hopefuls from all across Siora have poured into Uutalinn to cheer on their nation’s competitors and favorite artists in a two-day spectacle. Big wins in the Preliminary Vote still fresh in the minds of those in attendance at the Ahtojää Events Hall have only amped up the buzzing excitement even further, and memories of the dazzling 1580 Voice of Siora competition in Valland have created big expectations for this year’s production. Day 1 started off big with a welcome party to honor the past and current participants of the Voice of Siora competition, and showcased the talents of the host nation, Karjelinn. To host it all was Eggy - and to kick off his job at host, he showed the audience how he gets spiffied up and ready to serve as master of ceremonies in a video documenting “A Day In the Life of an Egg”. Here we can see Eggy getting his shell polished. Looking good, Eggy! In a twist on the standard welcome ceremony, Karjelinn brought back its past competitors for a concert to get the blood pumping. Teaming up to create one heck of a welcome party, Metsaklaani of the 1574 competition gets things going fast and hard, Spekti of 1576 brings a touch of comedy and a lot of swagger, Kevat of 1578 cools things down with their extraterrestrial sounds, and - of course - the winner of the 1580 competition, Eggy, gets the crowd feeling bouncy with his Florinthian-language version of his winning earworm "Pomppufiilis" or "Bouncy Feeling". Click >here< to hear the opening concert of the 1582 Voice of Siora competition. At the end of the night, the current contestants were brought onstage and received big cheers and huge applause from the audience. The songs they will be performing were announced as each artist or group of artists took the stage with big smiles and bigger pride in their homelands. The air is alive with excitement, the songs have been announced, and the artists are raring to go. By the end of Day 2, Siora will have chosen its winner and the next champion of the Voice of Siora will be crowned. Best of luck to all participants in the Live Phase! Submit your Final Vote>here<. Spoiler: Lift up your voices, Siora!™ RE: Voice of Siora 5 - Karjelinn - Sal - 04-01-2017 Voice of Siora International Music Competition 1582 - Karjelinn A winner has been chosen! After two days of performances and cheering, Nyland has become the first nation in Voice of Siora International Music Competition history to become a repeat gold winner! Their group Kent, with a unique sound that marries gritty punk with soulful alternative sounds for a truly one-of-a-kind experience, earned them the honor of first place, narrowly beating Kyrzbekistan's Lälä with a two point lead. In a brief statement made by the band's front man, Kent are "happy that we had this opportunity. This felt like a bit of a redemption moment for us, and I think it shows how much we've matured and improved even now, even since the last time we competed. We are overjoyed, really." Kent competed previously in the first Voice of Siora competition in 1574 at Luah'u. The next competition will mark the group's ten-year anniversary with involvement in the competition - and what better way to celebrate than by having the competition hosted in their home country? Host Eggy, who kept everyone thoroughly bouncy from warm-ups through encores, gave the farewell speech to close the 1582 competition onstage with Kent, and stirred up one last big round of applause for all of the year's talented artists. With the conclusion of the competition, we now look forward to the 1584 competition to be hosted, once again, by Nyland. Congratulations, Kent, and great job to the other competitors!
