Zeljko Bratansek won the Tour de Valland, after seven years without a Brigidnan champion.

Lauren, Valland - Mordvanian Zeljko Bratansek (Mordvelo) became the third Mordvanian rider to win the Tour de Valland after Wladislaw Adamowsky (1546) and Slavoj Savincek (1586).

The Mordvanian climber took the red jersey after winning stage 8, and he was able to comfortably keep despite losing time in the last decisive three stages.

Ceribian Pharnavaz Undiladze (Magram), surprisngly finished second at forty-nine seconds. It was only the second Tour de Valland participation for the 23-year old Ceribian climber, who also won both the Mountain and Points classification.

Adwestene champion Eden Grace Weatherhead (Scholden-Gulcron) the main favourite at the start of the Tour, who aimed to win his sixth Tour de Valland, finished third at one minute and thirty seconds.

Nylander Zachariah Nordfeldt (Vançotte), in his best Tour since 1590, when he finished second, was fourth, while Seljis climber Jevgenijs Kalnins (Magram) was fourth.

Nylander team Anzcell Cycling dominated in the mass sprints, winning five stages. After 24 years, Pharnavaz Undiladze kept the Ceribian Tour at home.

Etora, Ceribia - Pharnavaz Undiladze (Bagdati), who was runner-up in the last Tour de Valland, won the 1586 Ceribian Tour. The last time a Ceribian rider had won their Grand Tour was in 1572, one year before Undiladze was born, when Zurab Avakidse unexpectedly won the Ceribian Tour.

The 23-year old Ceribian climber proved why he is considered the most promising rider of the new Ceribian generation. While he was expected to serve as a domestique to Aivars Helmanis in his second Tour de Valland, he finished runner-up in the general classification, also winning the Mountain and Youth classification. If there was any doubts about his future, he proved to be the best rider in the high mountain in Ceribia, winning his first Grand Tour in a season in which he also won the Lauren Arseille and the Nord-Ouest Classic earlier this season.

Nylander Zachariah Nordfeldt (Vançotte) finished second at one minute and eleven seconds. Nerysian Jarik Nytar (BataVelo) was third at three minutes and two seconds, in the best result in a Grand Tour for the Nerysian 1595 World champion.

Svarnan Dheeraj Devarukhkar (Baagh) won the Mountain classification, and Nylander Chester Stenbeck (Anzcell) who won three stages, won the Points classification.

Roman Herzogenrath wins 1599 Tour de Valland
By Pia Chamberlain
Published: Zechyr, 1599

Roman Herzogenrath won his first Grand Tour.

Lauren, Valland - Dyrheimer climber Roman Herzogenrath won the 1599 Tour de Valland.

Herzogenrath became the first Dyrheimer rider to win the Tour de Valland. He also won two individual stages -the first and last high mountain stages- and the Mountain classification, which he already won in 1595.

One of the most promising riders of his generation, he had been one of the most active an offensive riders in the high mountain in the last seasons, but he failed to improve his 8th position in 1593. But although he showed weakness in a few stages, the Dyrheimer climber proved to be a more consistent and mature rider this Tour.

1599 Tour of West Brigidna winner Jevgenijs Kalnins (Magram) was second at two minutes and forty-one seconds. The Videjszeme champion proved to be the only real threat for Herzogenrath in the last week, but he probably paid the fatigue in these last months.

Kyrzbekistani climber Damir Zagipur (KyrzAir), who also won the Youth classification, was third minutes and forty-four seconds.

1599 winner, Ceribian Pharnavaz Undiladze (Bagdati) was fourth at four minutes and thirty-two seconds, while Nerysian Munderic Aidas (Nenergo) was fifth at six minutes and six seconds.

Herzogenrath gave the first Tour de Valland to a Vallish team since 1588, when Jan Daxenberger won with NDM Cycling, and the second to his team after Henri Honnecourt, the last Vallish rider to win the Tour de Valland, won in 1587. Vallish fans are probably hopeful for the future, after Sylvestre Richelieu, who worked as domestique for Herzogenrath, showed a high performance in the final week in his second Tour de Valland, finishing ninth in the general classification and second in the Youth classification.

Mordvanian Miroslav Gradishar (Iskra Team) won the Points classification for first time. Both he and Vallish sprinter Antoine Duchesnay (NDM) were the only riders to win three individual stages this Tour.
