RGL flag.

GOTTHAUS- Sources from inside the Republik Gein Loche (RGL) have been reporting that the government of the nation has begun an aggressive strategy of language suppression in border areas and in urban Britzbern. Neighborhoods with large minority populations have been targeted by the Republizei (Republic Police).

According to the constitution of the RGL, the Gein language is to maintain lingual singularity and is the language of a 'superior people.' This was one of the promises of the ruling fascist PWL party. The Gein language is the official language and other languages are forbidden according to section 10 of the Civil Code. In the past few years, Laurentien-speakers caught in public areas have faced public disobedience penalties and hard labor.

The Gein language, spoken in other Gein-area (commonly known as Geinland) nations such as Gehenna, is one of the more prominent languages in Brigidna. It is the most widely spoken language in RGL, with minority populations in Laurentian Kingdom by bilinguals and those who fleed RGL with the revolution.

The International has obtained drone footage from an unknown source of raids in the Laurentien areas of Britzbern, its suburbs and areas near Leipstadt. Residents in these areas were warned three days prior to cease conversing in inferior languages in accordance to Republik law. The International was able to obtain a copy of the notice below:
Quote:HALT! HALT! HALT!

Alle Fremdsprachen
sind verboten
und illegal
nach Zivilgesetzbuch 10
über Sprachgebrauch
in öffentlichen und privaten.

Verstöße werden für
den direkten Ungehorsam gegenüber
der Republik bestraft.

Translation:
Stop! Stop! Stop!
All foreign languages
are forbidden
And illegal
According to the Civil Code 10
About language usage
In public and private.

Violators will be punished
for direct disobedience
to the Republic.

Human rights organizations in Laurentian Kingdom are working with The Resistance (Die Wilderstand) to attempt to smuggle vulnerable persons out of the country, but border patrol of the Gein - Laurentian Kingdom border is at a 5-year high. Those in Laurentian Kingdom fear that the language superiority may be a step towards the racial superiority 10-year plan made by the RGL in the constitutional convention.

Colonel Villads Meldgaard.

HERLEV - Oslanburg’s Prime Minister yesterday lifted the state of emergency that has been in place since his government came to power, through  military backed coup (13) thirteen years ago, and a top military chief said soldiers stationed in some of the country’s most sensitive areas will return to their barracks and bases.

The announcement from Prime Minister Ibsen said the state of emergency ordered in Nueva 1568 is lifted across the country immediately.

At the start it included a curfew and a ban on meetings of more than ten people, however that measure was relaxed over a period of time. However it has continued to give the military and police special powers to intervene in unrest or security threats.

Col. Villads Meldgaard told The International that soldiers deployed in force across Oslanburg would return to their bases.

New Oslanburgan Prime Minister Marcus Bjarnesen.

HERLEV - Oslanburgan Prime Minister Johan Ibsen has died from his injuries, suffered during an attack on the Oslanburgan Folteking just before a session began. Ibsen - who came to power in the West Brigidnan nation following a coup - was just about to enter the Folteking chamber when a gunman shot him multiple times across his body.

At least 2 other MPs died in the attack and five other MPs were also wounded. It was also reported four guards were injured during the entire ordeal, most likely from when the gunman initially entered the Oslanburgan legislature.

Arch King Aerin III has urged people to remain calm but large protests have gripped some cities such as Aetinheim, Trom, Viborg, and Vundt with reports of more breaking out in Essig and Esborg. Deputy now turned full blown Prime Minister in the wake of Ibsen's death, Marcus Bjarnesen, has placed security in a state of "red alert" nationwide, though their hasn't been any attempt to quell the protests by said forces.

Mr. Ibsen , leader of the Oslanburg Nationalist Front, had served as Deputy Prime Minister from 1564-1568 before becoming Prime Minister from 1568 onwards following a strangely military backed coup. It was the sixth assassination attempt  against him in recent years.

The attack occurred close to the entrance of the Folteking chambers, PM Ibsen had been speaking to fellow party members when the attack occurred. Police confirmed reports Mr. Ibsen had been shot in the neck and chest before the gunman shot himself in the head.

He died at roughly midday, said Troels Bendtsen, a member of the ONF who was at hospital; some supporters at the hospital wept while others broke into anger, throwing stones at cars and breaking windows.

Prime Minister Bjarnesen has also announced three days of national mourning. All schools, colleges, universities, banks and government offices will remain closed. He also said that there had been a "serious lapse in security" by the government.

Ibsen's death has also plunged the Oslanburg Nationalist Front into confusion, as large protests continue to spread and raises questions about what the new Prime Minister plans to do about, though some are taking his sign of inaction as a show of some steps.

The killing was condemned by Galeae, Veinland, and Florinthus.

Galeaen Chancellor Gregor Skjallmaan telephoned Prime Minister Bjarnesen for what the Prime Ministers' would only describe as a "brief" conversation on the situation.

Deputy Prime Minister Gotfred Bech.

HERLEV - Oslanburg descended further into chaos today as violent clashes between security forces and protesters left five dead and injured hundreds, in a situation spiralling "out of control" in the country's capital. Escalating unrest resulted in the first five fatalities today, after the Oslanburg's Attorney General confirmed five men had died of gunshot wounds and a criminal investigation has been opened.

Talks to resolve the crisis failed to yield any immediate results when Prime Minister Bjarnesen met with three opposition and protest leaders, while nearby Florinthus and Ostland warned they may have to "rethink their relationship with Oslanburg" if proof emerges that peaceful protesters had been shot at or "a systematic violation of human rights" had taken place, their Foreign Ministry released in a statement.

"If there is a systematic violation of human rights, including shooting at peaceful demonstrators or serious attacks to the basic freedoms ... then we have to rethink our relationship with Oslanburg and possibly (there will be) some consequences."

Security forces stormed barricades at the protests central location, detaining some protesters this morning during heavy rain fall. Later, police began chasing protesters from the site of violent clashes, hours after the five protesters died. Riot police moved in on hundreds of protesters, beating and firing rubber bullets at some and sending people running.

Oslanburg Deputy Prime Minister Gotfred Bech denied reports that police had live ammunition and said opposition leaders should be held responsible for the deaths. He said anti-government protests had brought "terrorists" onto the streets of Herlev and pledged to punish all "criminal action", even as protesters confronted security near government headquarters.

DPM Bech said "I officially state that the casualties, which unfortunately already exist, remain on the consciousness and responsibility of the organisers and certain participants of mass disturbances."

Florinthus also called on Oslanburg's government and opposition to “engage in a genuine dialogue”.

“I strongly condemn the violent escalation of events in Herlev overnight leading to casualties. The reported deaths of several protesters are a source of extreme worry,” the Florinthian Foreign Minister stated.

Hundreds of protesters have been injured in the clashes, which have been largely restricted to the main protest camp, and the blocks surrounding it.

Deputy Bech had said police would use force if the unrest continued after new anti-protest laws were rushed through the Oslanburgan Folteking a few days after the protests started. Bech told the International "If the provocateurs do not stop, then the authorities will have no other choice but to use force under the law to protect our people."

The one month standoff, which has attracted hundreds of thousands of protesters to rallies in central Herlev, and other major cities across Oslanburg began after former Prime Minister Johan Ibsen was assassinated out the Folteking Assembly chamber one month ago.

Protesters in Oslanburg have demanded the Prime Minister calls new elections immediately

HERLEV - Herlev remained braced for further violence last night despite an opposition leader raising hopes for a political solution after a second round of talks with the government. Ejgil Lange, leader of the United Labour Party said there was “a high chance of halting the bloodshed”. But opposition supporters booed and shouted “shame” when asked to maintain a truce with police.

After another night of rioting, Herlev settled into an uneasy lull on as protesters held a temporary ceasefire for opposition leaders to meet embattled Prime Minister Marcus Bjarnesen. The three main opposition leaders – Ejgil Lange,, leader of the United Labour Party, Lewis Larsen, son of imprisoned Prime Minister Damara Larsen, and Karsten Brondum of the Oslanburg Democratic Party - met PM Bjarnesan the night before, Mr Lange said later: “It was not easy but we have some kind of agreement and let’s see if the people accept that or not.”

Neither side would release details of any possible deal after protesters prepared for new clashes once the eight-hour truce, called by Mr Lange, neared its end.

The opposition and the Florinthian Federation have been ratcheting up the pressure on Bjarnesan and his government after a week of protests in which at least five people died at the hands of law enforcement. Some Oslanburgan news outlets were reporting that a total of ten protesters were dead, though this could not be verified.

Signs of the mass protests beyond Herlev were also visible, as protesters had reportedly besieged or stormed government buildings in at least other major Oslanburgan cities.

A special session of the Folteking was announced by Bjarnesan for next week to discuss the crisis, but the gesture announced was not greeted as a genuine attempt at finding a solution. Deputy Prime Minister Gotfred Bech called the demonstrations a “genuine attempt at a coup d’état” and promised not to give in to demands for early elections.

But the Speaker of the Folteking Hefel Nfeld, struck a more conciliatory note, saying in a statement that parliament should discuss “the resignation of the government and those questions linked to laws passed by parliament” when it meets next week.

The first fatalities of the protests occurred two days ago after five men died, three of them believed to be shot dead. Videos of the protests have shown what appeared to be snipers perched on top of nearby buildings. While the last two fell to their death, reportedly while fighting with police.

Lewis Larsen presented Bjarnasen with an ultimatum: call snap elections within 24 hours or the opposition would “go on the attack”. Opposition leaders seemed to be changing their stance to reflect growing radicalization of the protesters, pledging to face bullets along with their supporters. Larsen had previously tried to stop violence from breaking out on, but received a blast from a fire extinguisher in the face for his efforts. At that time, he called those clashing with police “provocateurs”.

“Tomorrow we will go forward together. And if it’s a bullet in the forehead, then it’s a bullet in the forehead, but in an honest, fair and brave way,” he said

Though after Larsen called a ceasefire for talks, protesters began extinguishing burning tires they had set up between themselves and police near the Folteking. Over the past several days, they have beaten police with bats and wooden planks, lobbed rocks and Molotov cocktails, shot fireworks, fired pneumatic pistols and devised giant slingshots – even a makeshift catapult.

But while both protesters and law enforcement have participated in the escalation of violence, reporting from the clashes has documented numerous instances of alleged police brutality. A journalist was struck and then knocked over by what appeared to be a stun grenade while on camera.

HERLEV - Radical anti-government protesters were forced to give up their brief occupation of of Oslanburg's Interior Ministry after fellow opposition groups and protesters accused them of jeopardizing peace negotiations. The Minister of the Interior, Erland Hoj, threatened to declare a state of emergency unless protesters left the ministry they had seized and fortified in the early hours of the morning, sparking calls from fellow demonstrators for the group to refrain from escalating the confrontation with authorities.

“I will be forced to ask the Prime Minister to stop the talks if the building is not freed immediately and negotiators are not given a chance to find a peaceful solution to the impass,” Minister Hoj told Oslanburg's OUT.

The group, which is occupying several buildings across the Oslanburganm state, is just one of several more radical elements within the previously peaceful protest movement and has played a key role in paralyzing the Oslanburgan capital. The political opposition condemned the latest seizure as a step too far, which could potentially jeopardize negotiations to end the political crisis. Five protesters were killed in clashes with security forces last week, with hundreds more injured.

There have been numerous cases of alleged brutality reported on both sides. “We denounce these provocative actions that are designed to provoke a state of emergency being called,” said Anders Dalsgaard, a member of parliament for the Oslanburg Democratic Party. “We are for peace and no more bloodshed.”

Prime Minister Bjarnasen offered to give opposition leaders top government posts, allow an amnesty for detained protesters, and political dissidents. But the opposition said it would continue to push for further concessions – especially a key demand for early elections and the resignation of his government, currently scheduled for Treizen 1583. A special session of parliament is due to take place in two days to discuss the crisis.

Mirjam Frederiksen, leader of of the group whose supporters are thought to number in the hundreds, said the group would leave the building, but would maintain a presence outside, ready to storm it again if the opposition’s demands are not met.

“If the demands on [the] restoring of constitutional order, organizing of parliament elections, resignation of his ilegimate regime, and ceasing terror acts against Oslanburgan people are not fulfilled by tomorrow, then we will storm all administrative buildings," she warned in a post on social media.

Demonstrations began across Oslanburg in Quartyr, following the death of then Prime MinisterJohan Ibsen following a successful assassination attempt. But the protests turned violent over a week ago, after the government introduced tough new anti-protest laws to quell the rallies across the country. At least five people have been killed in clashes with security forces, and hundreds injured.

Former Oslanburgan Prime Minister Damara Larsen celebrating her freedom some hours after her released was gauranteed.

HERLEV - Oslanburg's Arch-King has accepted Prime Minister Marcus Bjarnesan's and his cabinet resignation just hours after the Oslanburgan Folteking repealed its controversial anti-protest laws, along with a measure freeing all political dissidents taken into custody following the 1568 Ibsen coup. The most prominent of these dissidents being former Prime Minister of Oslanburg, Damara Larsen.

Aerin III accepted his resignation in a statement released today. However, he has asked Bjarnesan to stay on in an acting role until a new government is formed after elections are called.

The vote to repeal the anti-protest laws and release the dissidents came hours before Prime Minister Bjarnasan submitted his resignation. This morning the Folteking opened a special session to vote on whether to repeal anti-protest laws imposed last month and to free all political prisoners held since Ibsen's regime began.

In a statement this morning on the government website, Bjarnesan offered his resignation in order to encourage what he called “social-political compromise.”

"Today the most important thing is to preserve the unity and integrity of Oslanburg. This is far more important than any personal plans or ambitions. That is why I have taken this decision," he said.

Because of Oslanburg's constitution, if the Arch King accepts his resignation, then the whole government resigns.

Oslanburg has been gripped by protests for a month and the crisis was aggravated in recent days after protesters and security forces clashed violently. Protests began on 8 Qaurtyr when former Prime Minister, and leader of the coup that overthrow the former Oslanburgan government, Johan Ibsen was assassinated.

Also passed after the repeal of the anti protest laws, and the release of political dissidents was a law passing amnesty on all protesters that took part in the month long conflict. A huge cheer rose up from thousands of protesters assembled in Herlev when the news came through.

TRIVENZE - Lomarre New concerns have risen in light of the King of Lomarre's recent press release, causing a ruckus in the small Kingdom and the surrounding areas. The press release from the office of King Giovanni IV states that he is dealing with heart disease, which was speculated ever since he had left a diplomatic meeting, quote, "Gripping his chest". The news has caused a stir in the region as he has remained a stedfast opponent of fascism and has held the nation in relative peace for 23 years. Giovanni is 59 years old, next month. The heir apparent, Vittorio Emanuele di Haggia, has remained unable to comment and has already begun transitioning into governmental duties for over a month now. The young prince is only 22.

What we do know of Prince Vittorio Emanuele is that he is much more politically conservative than his father and mother. He stated in 1580, after meeting a Carpathian diplomat, that, "It is clear; Carpathia as a whole is doing whatever it can to undermine our authority in the region." Lanlanian as a whole, may come to like Vittorio more than his father, who has repeatedly coordinated with Severyane and Carpathia for favors. The heir apparent has held a nationalist and even at times, expansionist rhetoric. One may even call him a populist, due to his strong support by the poorer classes. Economically, the young prince has pushed for a much more protectionist policy, stating back four months ago, "Manufacturing and our clean coal initiatives are the lifeblood of this nation."

Burned cars at the Halvetien Party Centre parking lot

GATTHAUS - Over the 10 foot wall separating Gatthaus (locally Gotthaus) in the Laurentian Kingdom and Britzbern, Gein Lochland - the sound of mass protests is heard and lights from fireworks and government-owned spotlights can be seen. Royal Intelligence Ministry (RIM) has evacuated the closest areas of Gotthaus' border neighborhoods including the famous Govenuer District in response to the potential for violent responses by the Gein Lochland government on its rebelling people.

The protests began early this week after the arrest of community leader and former priest David Reithsmann, charged by the Polizei Gein for "conspiring against the establishment and Gein people." With Reithsmann branded as a terrorist, a group of people from the economically disadvantaged Halvetien neighborhood gathered in Niklausplatz. They assembled and called for his release. Late Monday night, the crowd had swelled to around 70 residents. Through the use of 611-Gein, a website sponsored by the LK that can be used by GL residents who have access to Laurentian cellular networks, the word spread of the protest. 611-Gein manager Renee Augustene told Laurentian media that it was the most the website has ever been accessed outside of the LK.

When the sun rose on Tuesday, the number swelled to over 200. According to sources on the ground, the government rang the neighborhood police sirens and ordered everyone into their homes. The crowd dispersed and the rest of Tuesday was calm and without incident.

Wednesday, however, was not without conflict. Halvetien residents found Reithsmann executed in centre of the Niklausplatz. This is a common police technique in GL, to forbid further misbehaviour. It is supposed to be a warning for others who might act out. This was not received as well as they expected. Protests and rebellion ignited with a gathering of up to 1,000 residents, fighting with the overwhelmed local police force. The Polizei retreated and the Halvetien residents celebrated their "victory" with continued protests through the night. All of this was filmed and posted to LK and international social media through the common use of smuggled LK phones.

This victory was short lived. This morning, Thursday, the people of Halvetien were not confronted by Polizei again. They were confronted with the military, who in riot gear, moved to enact a temporary conditional shut-down of the area. This was refused by the residents, who had swelled to an unprecedented 2 or 3 thousand protesters. With the appearance of the military, the crowd converged in the center of Niklausplatz, not allowing anyone in their group to get out, matched by the military which formed a wall around them with their riot shields.

Gein Loch military officials did not expect the word to spread to other areas of Britzbern as quickly as it did. Thousands of residents from the poor areas of east Britzbern poured into the district before the police could fully set up a perimeter. This has resulted in some confusion and the crowd fighting with military personnel in the middle of the square.

The rebellious protests have continued into the night, with locals arming themselves with guns from a marooned armory van. The standoff has not resulted in any fatalities at this time, however news has been trickling out slowly from the area. Gein Lochland's federal government has likely employed the signal blocking technology they bought from an unknown nation last year.

The King of LK has issued a warning to area citizens in the borderlands to be aware of the current conflict and be vigilant and report any information to Emergency Services at 6-11.
