Campaign Plot
Elite divisions in [Northern Skathia country] led to low-intensity military conflict which involves power struggle, constitutional crisis, regional divisions, and ethnic tensions. One of the factions will rely on the support of armed groups and militias supported and armed by Khokharsan government in order to regain power. Khokharsa may eventually directly intervene to either install a more friendly government, instigate territorial tensions or even annex territory.

Besides Nyland, other nearby player-nations include Bisica, Mandavine Union, or Batavia.

History of the country and background of the story
The Castlian colony of Sierra Morena was granted independence from the Kingdom of Castleon in the late 15th century. Under Brigidnan rule, the Sierra Morena's government supported the Republic of Northern Skathia against the Khokharsan government in the so-called Second Northern Skathian War, from 1535 to 1540.
After the Treaty of Amarune, in which the Republic of Northern Skathia ceased to exist, Sierra Morena received many refugees from their neighbor country. However, the Nylander government, which had been Sierra Morena's main trade partner and ally since the 1520s, pressured the government of the former Castlian colony to introduce important reforms.
A new constitution was passed in 1548, and the country was renamed as Nyanderan Republic (or simply Nyanderia). The constitution established a semi-presidential republic, in which a form of consociationalism was established, in which the Brigidnan minority shared power with the country's main two ethnic groups. As a consequence, between 1548 and 1580, the president was always an ethnic Dadka, the prime minister a native of the southwestern region, and the speaker of the parliament was a descendant from Castlian settlers.
Despite corruption and flawed elections, the country was stable until 1581 when, following a constitutional crisis, president Samwel Chepchumba suspended the constitution with the help of the Armed Forces. President Chepchumba died in 1588, being replaced by his vice-president. However, his successor was forced to resign in 1590, following protests calling for a restoration of the constitution. Then General Biko Nyabola became president, forging an alliance with governor Mwai Abrar was appointed head of the government. In 1594, however, Abrar was forced to flee the capital city and General Biko Nyabola has ruled the country as his personal dictatorship.
In 1598, Mwai Abrar returned to Kapbamet, his native town, after separatist insurgency took the city after months of fighting against Biko Nyabola's government. He founded his own political and armed group, the Southern Liberation Front, and forged an alliance with the Nyanderan Revolutionary Front, an armed group allegedly backed by the Khokharsan government.
After months of fighting, in which Mwai Abrar's coalition consolidated their power over the southern provinces and expanded toward the northern and central regions, a stalemate was reached and negotiations started. However, the negotiation failed and the country has been since then de facto partitioned in two.
Main factions
- General Biko Nyabola's government, which mostly control the capital city and the northern and central provinces. Although they technically control the central government of the Nyanderan Republic, they are the main rebel faction.
- Southern Liberation Front, unofficially backed by Khokharsan government, which control most of the southern and western provinces. Their coalition is mostly based on ethnicity, regional interests, and former government officials who were deprived from power since General Nyabola's took power, rather than ideological differences.
- Nyanderan Revolutionary Front, supported by the Khokharsan government, mostly operating in the eastern provinces and some regions in the north.
- Khokharsan government, obviously.
