Federal Defense Forces
The military of Romerike is divided into three branches: Legio Foederatum, Classis Foederatum, and Legio Aeris Foederatum. The three branches are overseen by a General who reports directly to the Princeps Regem and each branch is led by a triumvirate of three Generals. The General who oversees the total force is appointed by the Princeps Regem, and each branch’s triumvirate is in turn appointed by the General of the total force.
The Romerike military has 1,100,000 active duty personnel with an additional 870,000 ‘Ready Reservists’ on standby. Citizens who choose to enlist may do so for five or twenty years. A five year enlistee will receive a stipend, and a twenty year enlistee will receive an increased stipend. Any citizen may purchase a commission and be admitted into the Officer Academy for their branch of choosing. Completion of the Officer Academy enters the person into a twenty-five year contract, and when the contract is up they receive an Officer’s Severance Stipend. The amount of the stipend received upon completion of a contract is equal to the annual pay of their last five years of service added together and taxed by 5%.
The Legio Foederatum is the official name of the ground forces of the Federation. It has 620,000 active duty members. The Legio Foederatum relies heavily on shock and awe tactics, and as such they have constructed and trained an elite core of armored forces and mobile infantry. While this is their primary focus, special warfare is the secondary.
The Classis Foederatum is the official name for the naval forces of the Federation. It has 200,000 personnel in active duty. The Classis Foederatum has focused its strategy on overwhelming fire. While it possesses two aircraft carriers, it has 98 guided missiles cruisers as well as several guided missiles destroyers, close defense frigates and attack submarines. The fleet uses its guided missile capabilities to overwhelm enemy defensive capabilities.
The Legio Aeris Foederatum is the official name for the air forces of the Federation. It presently has 280,000 active duty personnel. The task of the Legio Aeris is to provide air superiority and precision fire support to ground commanders.
Federal Security Police
The Federal Security Police is the arm of the judicial branch charged with investigating crimes that directly violate the Carta vel Foederatum, as well as international crime. It is separated into two branches: the Praefectus Praetorio and the Legio Criminalis Investigatiae.
The Praefectus Praetorio act as the direct law enforcement. They conduct warranted raids, arrests and surveillance of suspects.
The Legio Criminalis Investigatiae is a body of detectives, forensic analysts and support staff required to conduct criminal investigations.
