Offensives against Achian Insurgents continue into their second month and conflict escalates to a higher intensity. Last week fighter jets struck targets deep in the forests believed to be major depot and training camps. Arkianian Ground Forces continued their steady advances in securing towns, however the advance came to a steady halt in what is seen as the most intense battle since Arkianian-Achian War of 1588. The battle was located in a city called Galati, it consisted of 100,000 people. Its populace had strong Achian nationalist base, and became a haven for Achian Insurgents since the end of the war. A detachment garrisoned in the town became overwhelmed by Insurgent attacks, and soon they would become surrounded. A relief force was sent to save the surrounded Arkianian soldiers, they would soon too be embroiled in the battle, however the detachment was saved. The battle is currently still ongoing with casualty estimates at 120 insurgents and 13 Arkianians. Civilian casualties are unknown. Government sources claim they have killed 300 insurgents, and also claim they are near the end of the battle. In reality however it seems the battle is taking longer than expected for Arkianian Forces.
