Following a series of setbacks which cost the lives of 35 service members, the Royal Armed Forces deployed in Achia launched a series of offensives over the past few weeks. Numerous towns were secured forcing Achian Insurgents to retreat back into the forests. While government sources claim great success, the reality was less so. While the Royal Armed Forces did make numerous strides, the operation failed to take the numerous supply points and border towns which keep the Achian Insurgents supplied. The offensives however did cost the Insurgents countless resources and men. Over the entirety of the Operation, Insurgents are estimated to have lost up to 500 men. Government sources indicates that the Royal Armed Forces suffered 12 losses, however independent estimates suggest up to 54 men were killed in the fighting. There was also a number of suspected human rights abuses carried by Arkiania soldiers such as execution of prisoners of war, and arrests made throughout the towns that were cleared. With the conflict heating back up once again, and tensions fuming between Arkiania and Octitania, analysts fear a confrontation between Arkiania and Octitania in the future.
