Expanding Country: Drubang
EC.'s Government Type: Republican Dictatorship
Campaign Setting: 1480s
Campaign Goal: Somewhere south/west of Drubang. I don't really have a specific idea
Informational Links: rough map of Tobongi Empire? I can make a better map of Tobong once I have an idea about who is forming factions around me and just how big you're willing to let Tobong be.
When did you last have an Expansion? with drubang? never, but I have done stuff with Harmajaa a couple if times ~ balochia and sappa
When was the Expanding Country's last military conflict? that's sort of what I'm trying to describe with this "expansion"
Why do you seek to expand? OOC: ive convinced blacaria to roleplay again!!!!!!! that should be enough to give this the greenlight right? loljk. I kind of want to flesh out the chaos following the collapse of the tobongi empire. If drubang gets anything out of it, swell, if not, no biggie.
Campaign Plot
The death of the Tobongi Emperor without an heir results in an explosion of unrest as several factions seek their own interests. There are several factions at play, but theyre broken mostly into a few main groups. there are those who want to keep Tobong as a unified state, just controlling it. These include challengers for the throne, loyalist factions, etc. There are likely only a few of these. There are factions who are motivated by ethnic or cultural independence and nationalism. These can be as numerous as the ethnic groups in the area. There are fiveish main groups in modern drubang, so surely there could be even more in tobong. There are also ideological groups, led by strong leaders or warlords who seek to either establish their own dictatorships or other states. Maybe a communist type or other dictator-ey guys. Ante Mokorno, who eventually founds Drubang, was among this last group.
Obviously, we have the current borders and stats of Drubang that sort of control the outcome, so Ante doesnt die or completely fail or anything like that, but beyond that this whole thing is sort of open. A lot of this is still really conceptual so I'm unsure how you'll feel about the whole idea. It isn't really a standard "expansion" but rather setting the stage for the formation of Drubang and its neighbors out of the old Tobongi Empire.
Potential for Other Player Involvement
Naturally, this would be open to other player involvement almost by design. Blacaria has already said he'd be into it. This is an interesting time period and it provides for a lot of different conflict points. The results are pretty open as well, so it's pretty flexible. I'm willing to hear you out on how you feel this concept should be carried out.
I am very wary about letting people roleplay only to create more NPCs. I dont want more NPCs for the sake of it, and if we ended up in a situation like that, I would probably seek to invade them/consume with my new semi-bad guy drubang through more roleplay. People should really only get involved if they're willing to play with the state potentially long term. idk, what do you think of it?
Believe it or not, I had an idea of playing this out on a risk board of sorts, and then roleplaying the results after every turn. It would be a super weird idea but it could be pretty fun? what do you think of that weirdness lol. I got that idea when we played diplomacy briefly and nents roleplayed every turn early on. It was an interesting concept, I felt anyway.

Drubang already exists, but it could potentially end up with larger borders if it were particularly successful.

Drubang already has its borders set, but in the end we can always adjust those borders if I got squashed somehow?
how might other Players get involved in your campaign?
once you've approved the concept and given your critiques, opinions, etc. i'll set up an OOC and we'll get going. I want to get into this pretty quickly. This could be an interesting way for some of those new members to get their feet wet without risking their new toys? lol
