Alibek had "settled in" over the week. As the week went on he became more and more miserable as he attended more sessions. During the sessions the more he tried to resist the more painful it was. He was put in the MRI machine to be shown images. Every time images of boys was was shown and his brain registered interest he was shocked, interspersed were images of Amir which when the images were shown he was shocked with high voltage. is skin burnt from the amount of shocks he was receiving. Then he was shown pictures of girls during which he was shown images of positive things like chocolate and his favourite food.On top of that he was subjected to the sound of pneumatic drill anytime he thought "bad thoughts." If he acted "gay " then not only was he shocked but he was put in the solitary confinement cell for 2 days. He hated his life and only got more upset thinking about Amir and what he would be going through.The longer time went on the more depressed he got, yet he couldn't stop his feelings when seeing the picture of Amir. 3 weeks in his mood had notably dropped.
