Its tough to say. I think survival is a good constraint to have, but there are definitely times I wanted to be in creative mode to build things quickly.
I think the satisfaction of building stuff in survival is exciting, though I do think we'll need certain very difficult to find items provided. The biggest thing is certain trees are not anywhere we've found yet, so some saplings could help a lot.
Though, that's depending on how well we worship our Gods. Our main settlement doesn't even have a proper church like so many of the others. Hadar must be satisfied if we are to ever receive blessings.
I think another goal we should have is making each settlement interesting and connecting them with roads. We can claim fiefs and build our own holdings lol. That'd be a lot of fun I think, especially if each one had its own vibe and flavor. I see hahklallallallallallah has already started building his own little palisade, and lynis is building a castle of his own. At some point I must go forth and claim my lands o_o
