OOC: Second Gable Intervention - Ayzek - 10-26-2018

Scenario
Yessiree, after almost exactly four decades, the Holy Lanlanian Empire is returning to once again save Gable from itself. The Lanlanians first liberated Gable from an evil military coup in 1556 and had a sizable presence in the country until 1574. They withdrew that year, largely content with the level of DEMOCRACY that gable had achieved.

But, sadly, peace in Gable did not last. In 1590, ethnic and social-economic tensions between the cities and countryside turned violent as the country was influenced by a civil war raging to its north. The war escalates in 1595, after the Gablese President is assassinated by rebel forces on his way to a peace conference. At the same time, the civil war north of Gable has began to wind down, with the government there pushing the ideological rebels south into Gable.

I will most likely set the first few posts before 1595, to set the tone and shit, but the bulk of RP will most likely be set after 1595. While Lanlanian air and special forces have likely been in the country since 1592, it won't be until after the President is assassinated that Gable requests boots on the ground. At that point, Lanlanian involvement will begin a steady escalation until Gable is "secured."

The Lanlanians might certainly end up being in the country for another two decades, we'll see.

Parties

Government of Gable. Democratic. Conservative. The government was a boulder at first, but was ultimately willing to negotiate until the President was assassinated. Now it's much less willing to give concessions, and will instead attempt to defeat the rebellion militarily--hence why it asked the Lanlanians to back them up. The government controls most cities and towns, especially along the coast. I will most likely play the government myself.
Primary ethnicities:

Geinic (ethnic Lanlanians that remained after decolonization);
Fuugo (west coast),
Banu (southeast coast).

Moderate Rebels. Democratic. Progressive. These are the rebels that were willing to negotiate with the government and are dismayed the President was assassinated. They are unsure what to do now, especially as the government escalates its violence. They're control large parts of the countryside in the eastern plains and southern hills. You guys may play them.
Primary ethnicities:

Banu (southern plains),
Zebani (northern plains),
Mapowe (southwestern hills).

Extreme Rebels. Revolutionary. Extreme. These guys are very upset with the government and want to fight to total revolution. They are most likely responsible for the assassination of the President. Their center of power is the highlands in western and northern Gabon, but can be found throughout the country. You guys may play them.
Primary ethnicities:

Nzane (northern highlands),
Mapowe (southwestern hills).

Government of Northstan. Authoritarian. Reactionary. These guys were engaged in a civil war against ideological rebels and are solving it by pushing the rebels into Gabon. They control most of their country, with some rebel holdouts. Their ethnicities isn't hugely relevant to the campaign. I think. You guys may define and play them. They could seek to take advantage of the civil war in Gable for their own ends.

Northstan rebels. Revolutionary. Mixed. These guys follow some sort of ideology and were attempting to spread it in their country. But they are losing the war in Northstan and are consequently getting involved in Gable. I don't really care what their ideology is--you guys can define and play them. Your government could even be backing them.

Holy Lanlanian Armed Forces. Here to kick ass and keep their bitch safe support their friend and ally. I will be playing them.

SO WHO WANTS TO PLAY.

My main goal is defeating the rebellion and rebuilding Gable. I'm not after Northstan, but might certainly go in if the campaign evolves that way. The Lanlanians will most likely be supporting Gable alone, though Gable and the HLE could ultimately ask their friends for help, especially if Northstan tries anything funny.

Singan might be willing to help if HLE requests; barring how things develop in Hoinom it might go help to help keep democracy in an ever spiraling area of the world >_>
