THE ARRENLANDER-HOLY LANLANIAN TREATY OF 1532
The Holy Lanlanian Empire and the Kingdom of Arrenland, reaffirming their commitment to peace in the Lagrain Sea, nonetheless intent on maintaining the stability and security of Said, and wishing to continue their historically mutually-beneficial powerful friendship, hereby agree to the following articles:
Article 1
The Parties to this Treaty shall make every utmost effort to maintain a mutually beneficial and prosperous relationship.
Article 2
The Parties to this Treaty shall make utmost effort to resolve their differences and disagreement without resorting to the use or threat of armed force. Should they fail to resolve an issue through private negotiations alone, they shall instead turn to a mutually-agreeable mediator, whose resolution shall be accepted by both Parties as final and binding.
Article 3
The Parties to this Treaty shall, to the best of their abilities, share with one another information that may affect the other’s national, social, or economical security.
Article 4
The Parties to this Treaty shall consult one another both periodically and at one’s request regarding the security of themselves, one another, and the Lagrain Sea region.
Article 5
The Parties to this Treaty shall cooperate in the pursuit and conservation of security in the Lagrain Sea as may be mutually agreed.
Article 6
The Government of the Empire recognizes the Continent of Kvaenna and all islands north of the Layman Islands and east of eastern edge of the Kvaennan continental plate and west of the 30 degree west parallel as an Arrenlander Region of Interest and shall refrain from significantly interfering in affairs in this region without first consulting the Government of the Kingdom.
Article 7
The Government of the Kingdom recognizes the Continent of Brigidna south of the Byras Sea, the eastern region of the Continent of Avidna, the Mandavines, and the northern region of the Continent of Skathia as the Holy Lanlanian Regions of Interest and shall refrain from interfering in affairs in this region without first consulting the Government of the Empire.
Article 8
This Treaty shall enter into effect once instruments of its ratification have been exchanged by its signatories. It shall remain in effect for period of twenty years from its ratification, and may be extended by ten years thereafter by mutually agreement.
Article 9
After this Treaty has been in effect for twenty years, either Party may cease to be a Party one year after having given a notice of denunciation to the other.
Article 10
The original copies of this Treaty, of which the Arrene and Lanlian texts are equally authentic, shall be deposited within the archives of both Parties.
