RE: Die Volta-Bericht - Zabuza825 - 10-12-2016 Autism Association of Volta formed, aims to assist rights of Autistic People by Christel Schäfer The Autistics Association of Volta has been started by the parents and friends of people with genuine cases of the disorders found within what doctors refer to as the autism spectrum. The organization, which has registered as a non-profit organization, claims that it's aims is to improve the living situation and advance the rights of people with autism within Volta. Their membership comes mostly from the parents and friends of people with any of the disorders on the autism spectrum, though it is important to note that there are people with genuine cases of the disease who are also members of the organization. The organization is based in Vien. The organization also held it's first official meeting today, in which it layed out the organizations goals and plans for future action. The group states that to advance it's goals it plans on using several different methods. This includes establishing schools for those with autism, along with the establishment of an employment program. It also has stated that it will seek to establish programs to assist adults with the condition, and will work with authorities to try and get an early intervention program implemented on both local and nationwide scales. It has also stated that this organization will be funded with donations from generous people, both within and outside of Volta. The leader of the organization, Oskar Seidel, said in a press conference that they simply seek to help these people get their lives back in order. He was very critical of the policies of the Ulbricht administration in his press statement. "The policies of Franz Ulbricht and some of his predecessors did a lot of harm to autistic people." he said "The failure to recognize sociopathic hysteria as something completely separate and unrelated to autism led to many innocent men, women, and children suffering unnecessary negative consequences. These are men, women, and children who have committed no crime against the Voltan nation, who genuinely need help from society, and to say the old administrations turned their backs on them only scratches the surface." Oskar also praised current Chancellor Ernst Krenz for changing the national policy on autistism. "It is precisely because of his reforms that this organization is allowed to exist at all, and for that I thank him." he stated "I look forward to working with him in order to help make the Voltan motherland a better country for everyone." In his closing statement, Oskar Seidel pleaded to the Voltan people for support for their cause. "These are not people who oppose communism or socialism." he said "these are men, women, and children, many of whom are quite patriotic, many of whom believe in the communist ideal. They are not counterrevolutionaries, they are our comrades. As a fellow communist, I feel that we must extend a helping hand to all of our comrades, a helping hand. I ask you - is it wrong to help a comrade?" RE: Die Volta-Bericht - Zabuza825 - 10-17-2016 Chancellor of Volta to hold a Direct Wire Q&A TV Session by Christel Schäfer State broadcaster VNF (Voltaern Nationale Fersehen) has announced that Chancellor Ernst Krenz will appear on national television for a new show on Alvan 3rd, 1580. The new show, which is called "Direkt Draht mit die Kanzler" (Direct Wire with the Chancellor) will have the Chancellor answering random questions from viewers, some from inside Volta and others from abroad. The show will broadcast for 3 hours in the afternoon of that day, largely targetting the time period where people have stopped working. It will be the first time that the Chancellor has appeared on national television to directly answer the people's questions. Questions can be submitted through phone calls, SMS, video calls, or even social media. There is expected to be a large volume of questions, so moderators are expected to choose questions on the topics most frequently asked. Questions can be about anything, including domestic and foreign policy, local issues, or even the personal life of the Chancellor. Questions can be anything from simple yes or no questions, to even more complicated questions that may require long answers. Subjects covered are expected to include the progress of political reforms in the country, along with the general state of the country. The Direct Wire will be broadcast on national television starting 7 PM on Alvan 3rd, 1580. It will also be livestreamed through the VNF website, free for anyone to watch. Other broadcasters, both foreign and domestic, may also broadcast the event. RE: Die Volta-Bericht - Zabuza825 - 10-17-2016 "Mein Kind", new TV drama about autistic family, set to start airing by Christel Schäfer A new TV drama is set to start airing on Tolven 25th, 1579. The drama, titled "Mein Kind" (My Child), is reportedly going to be about the struggles of a family raising an autistic child in Volta. The show, directed by Berolt Besson, is meant to be a showcase of the effects that the old government policies had on people with genuine cases of autism. The Autism Association of Volta is reported to be taking a direct role in the production of this drama, with them having a hand in everything from scriptwriting to filming. This follows a change in government policy, recognizing sociopathic hysteria as a disorder separate from autism. The old government policy of not differentiating between sociopathic hysteria (which was at one point called "sociopathic autism") and genuine cases of autism caused many problems for autistic people in Volta. According to the Autism Association of Volta, autistic people in Volta have a high unemployment rate in spite of government programs meant to combat unemployment, and are less likely to go on to higher education. The Autism Association of Volta says that with this film they hope to raise public awareness regarding the situation The drama is set to air every Wednesday at 6 PM starting Tolven 25th, with it expected to go on for at least 12 episodes. RE: Die Volta-Bericht - Zabuza825 - 10-18-2016 Volta to buy Carpathian jets, says Ministry of Defense by Christel Schäfer An example of a Carpathian X-15 "Switchblade". The National People's Air Force will be purchasing aircraft from Carpathia to supplement the existing craft, in an effort to increase the fighting effectiveness of the military, says the Ministry of Defense. They have specifically stated that they will be accepting a recent offer from Carpathia to buy the 4th-gen fighter known as the X-15 Switchblade second hand for $3.5 billion. The Voltan Ministry of Defense has stated that this will not only supplement the current stock of Voltan planes, but would also provide the National People's Air Force with a much needed boost. The deal would be the first time that Volta has purchased aircraft from a country that is not Severyane or an ally of Severyane, a significant move considering the country was once staunchly a buyer of Severyane's military products. The government has stated that the recent shift away from Severyane's products was due to a desire to not limit themselves to a single supplyer. "If we want to maintain an effective fighting force, we cannot limit ourselves to just one country for all of our military needs." said Alfred Hohenstein, the Minister of Defense "We must look at all options available to us and choose the best one that we can find." When asked about the price of the products, he assured reporters that the price was justified. "Carpathian military products might be expensive, but the government feels that the price is justified considering the quality of the products." he said. When asked whether or not Volta would accept a similar offer for the Carpathian NX-36 Assault Rifle, he stated that the government was "seriously considering" the matter, and said a final decision would be made at a later date. |
