RE: A matter of community - Raz - 12-20-2016 So... Yeah I suppose I'm in the same boat as a lot of people, MTRP doesn't really interest me currently. I have been contemplating writing some Sci Fi stories and posting them on here but I've been a busy person between work and other stuff. Hell I check here almost every day in case someone has been inspired to do something or does something that inspires me. I play many different games, Stellaris and Battlefield 1 currently share my top spots so if anyone wants to play RazTheFlash is my Steam name. RE: A matter of community - Rommy - 12-20-2016 Yeah MTRP is not really my thing, has not been for awhile. I plan on dabbling somewhat from now on but nothing too much. I plan on posting some fantasy, and science fantasy stories. As for games....uhhh overwatch for me. A minecraft server would be chill though. RE: A matter of community - Flo - 12-20-2016 if anybody has an xbone we could play stuff too RE: A matter of community - Sal - 12-20-2016 Regarding games, I could be convinced to buy Tabletop Sim if enough people on here have it. Otherwise, I pretty much just do Starbound. Sometimes Hearthstone, but rarely enough that I suck. RE: A matter of community - Rommy - 12-20-2016 IM sure once we get a proper gaming scene going that options would increase, as we see games people we are into we would eventually buy it. I know not everyone might agree with this, but we should totally consider Discord. RE: A matter of community - Ayzek - 12-22-2016 I think we went off topic a bit. Regardless, I've spawned dedicated forums for gaming and writing stuff. No longer must we stuff our stories in a techincally-role play forum, or plot our multiplayer gaming in secret. We should move those discussions there. Returning to the subject at hand: does anyone have any other ideas for expanding the community and its feels? RE: A matter of community - Flo - 12-23-2016 Community comes down to people being around, honestly. What can we do to have people visit more often? I've seen el Ikarius come back a few times recently, and el deckard has returned as well. Lets start with writing challenges. That sounds like a neat way to do stuff. Multiplayer games is a great idea too. Also, we toyed with the idea of potentially doing goft giving (thanks Rom) on steam and honestly thats a good idea too. Now that the sale is in full swing I have some ideas for gift giving to some of you nerds In case you guys didnt know, Blac and I have gotten eachother gifts for a little while now. Hahkbro has participated as well. Blac and I also give gifts to our deity Lynis every so often, as tokens of affection and reverence. I'll write up a post sometime about a potential steam game gift exchange. We'll see how it goes RE: A matter of community - Flo - 12-23-2016 Something I've also thought about is history. In Alterra we did a thing called the cooperative history project or something, where we fleshed out the history of the world. If we are kinda moving past the MTRP scene, maybe we could play a bit in old times. It's a fun historical excercise and I remember it taught me a lot about different periods as well as lateral thinking, since it involved creating and adapting different things. I'll probably have some more thoughts eventually. I thought of maybe starting up a little newsletter bloggy thing, if there's interest. RE: A matter of community - Ayzek - 12-23-2016 I did consider a cyber gift exchange too...the problem with that is that not all of us make enough to comfortably throw some bucks on a game for the bros, and it wouldn't be cool to exclude 'em. Although, I do still have a button of unclaimed on humble bundle I could distribute to those souls. So maybe we should go ahead? You wanna OP it, Flobro? As for history, we could revisit co-opping history, as Jam's spearheading with Marzanna. And past-tech RP is indeed an option. The trouble is that that's still RP. and we're not doing that very much. If you've got ideas though, throw 'em out and we can try to get back into it. We do have to start somewhere.... Bathtub Reader 2.0? RE: A matter of community - Flo - 12-24-2016 we can talk about history in a few weeks. People were pretty interested in contests, and my plan was to introduce a historical period in floland, set the stage so to speak, and then let them run with it. For now we can have some fun with a gift exchange. I'll make an OP Bathtub Reader is probably going to be resurrected |
