Possibly Useful Spreadsheets |

So I occasionally make spreadsheets to help me organize certain things and whatnot. I figured "Hey, maybe other people do the same thing."
So here, if you have a spreadsheet that you made post it here in a blank format for others to use I guess.
* - ORBAT Spreadsheet is designed to be used in tandem with the C10 Military Spreadsheet, so it's most useful when used that way.

Sioran International Date and Calendar
Universal Time
Universal Time is the primary time standard used on Siora, derived from various atomic clocks positioned across the globe that measure the passage of proper time on the planet's geoid. UT mainly measures the passage of seconds, which be additionally broken down into days, hours, and minutes. It is most compatible with the Universal Calender, which is the modern development of the Theodorian Calender.
Duration of Various Universal Time Periods |
In-game Period | In Years | In Months | In Days | In Hours | In Minutes | In Seconds | Real-life time | 1 Year | 1 | 14 | 392 | 9,408 | 564,480 | 33,868,800 | 49 days | 1 Month | N/R | 1 | 28 | 672 | 40,320 | 2,419,200 | 3.5 days | 1 Day | N/R | N/R | 1 | 24 | 1,440 | 86,400 | 3 hours | 1 Hour | N/R | N/R | N/R | 1 | 60 | 3,600 | 7.5 minutes | 1 Minute | N/R | N/R | N/R | N/R | 1 | 60 | 7.5 seconds |
A second itself is defined as "the duration of 9192631770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom at rest at a temperature of 0°K."
International Standard Calendar
The Universal Calendar is itself the successor of the Theodorian Calendar, which itself was a development of the Old Lanlanian Lunar Calendar. It was created to fix an issue with the Theodorian Calendar which caused it to fall out of sync with the planet's revolution around the sun over the centuries.
The Universal Calendar divides the revolution into 14 months of 28 days each, generally ignoring the lunar cycles that formed the basis of its ancient predecessor (though, there is still some overlap). The Universal Calendar—and, indeed, Universal Time as a whole—ignores the solar day, instead choosing to tolerate the minor discrepancies between Solar Time and Atomic Time and focusing on the passage of time--the period between two events.
This has lead to the hours of sunlight differing slightly at various points in the year, though to largely negligible extents.

Siora Modern Tech Role Play Scene Rules
Section I: General
- The Role Play Directorate is the final authority regarding the Siora Modern Tech Role Play Scene . Failure to cooperate with it may result in in-game consequences and/or action by Board Staff.
- Sioran Role Play centers on the fictional planet Siora. Consequently, clear copies of Real-life persons, religions, countries, and the like are discouraged. The use of Real-life names, especially modern ones, in similar role is effectively prohibited.
- Be amicable with all Players and cooperative especially with the Role Play Directorate. It mission is to keep the Scene fair, balanced, and realistic.
- God-modding is prohibited. God-modding includes: assuming an unreasonable level of control over another Player’s character(s) or aspects without their consent; having ridiculously perfect and/or powerful character, countries, equipment, or technology; meta-gaming; and generally, overly unrealistic activities or aspects.
- God-modding and other forms of immature and/or unrealistic Role Play may be Ignored by a Player. Application and resolution of said are subject to Directorate Review.
- The Official Maps shall be maintained by the Directorate.
Section II: Player Countries
- Directorate Approval is necessary for a Player Country to be considered canon to Siora. The Directorate may Reject or Remove Player Countries.
- The Directorate may establish Non-Player Countries, which shall be role-played by the Director or a Directorate-appointed Caretaker. The extent of the Caretaker’s control may vary between Non-Player Countries.
- A Player is permitted a maximum of three Player Countries without incurring explicit restrictions. A Player Country does not necessary have to be a “country” by convention terms; certain International Organizations may qualify as Player Countries.
- A Player may not create a Country with malicious or unfair intent. A Player Country may be Removed and its role play retconned if such intent is apparent after the fact.
- Countries owned by the same Player are not prohibited from interacting or associating with one another, subject to in-game canon, situations, and Directorate Consent. Using one Country to glorify, strengthen, or otherwise unfairly advance another is prohibited.
- The Directorate may determine a Country’s initial Territory, Population, and GDP per capita, as well as its annual Growth/Decline with or without its Player’s input.
- Multiple Players may Share a Country with Directorate Approval. The exact distribution of duties and roles lies largely on the involved Players. Depending on the distribution, however, a Player may be recognized as the Ultimate Player or all Players may be recognized as equal Co-players. Should a Co-player become inactive, the remaining Players may continue to operate the Country. Should an Ultimate Player become inactive, the Country’s fate lies with the Directorate.
- The Directorate may assign control of an inactive Player’s Country to another or reclassify it as a Non-Player Country.
Section III: Military and Warfare
- A military must be reasonably sized and equipped to its Country’s budget, economy, and population and is subject to Directorate Review.
- An In-game Casus Belli is required before a Player may wage War against a Country, Alliance, or Idea, and may be fabricated through Role Play by involved Players. War may not be forced upon a Player unless warranted In-game.
- Damages to a nation's infrastructure, population, and economy are subject to Directorate Review.
- An occupation of a Player State is indefinite, though subject to Directorate Review. Political consequences of an occupation lie largely with the involved Players. The Directorate may intervene to defend Player Interests or otherwise enforce a realistic settlement.
Section IV: Technology
- As the Sioran Modern Tech Role Play Scene is meant to be exactly that, In-game technology is limited to a) that which already exists in Real Life, b) is estimated to be serviceable within the next ten Real-life years, and c) concepts that have been Approved by the Directorate.
- Due to the inherent value of involved technologies, the following is in effect:
- Nuclear weapons are prohibited. Nuclear weaponry or their development may still play a role in specific Role Play Narratives with Directorate Approval.
- Ownership and exercise of a major Space Program is limited to Countries whose Players have developed their Country's space-faring history, exploits, and assets to the Directorate's satisfaction. This does not apply to Non-Player Countries. Prominent outer-space activities, such as construction of orbital or extraterrestrial facilities and exploration of other celestial bodies, require Directorate Approval.

Welcome to the Club, here's the Rules |

People are more than welcome to post specific topics for broad ideological/topical issues, however please note that the rules of debate still apply to these areas and specific questions can/should go into their own topics.
Feel free to suggest things here as well as general discussion!
Rules of Debate - Make sure your discussion/debate is of something deemed to be at least a "trivial matter" - If you're unsure of what this means or whether your topic makes sense to be posted here, just drop a PM to any of the Moderators/Admins
- Do not use any discussion/debate as an excuse to harass, attack or hurt the feelings of any individual member - If you disagree with what someone is saying, do not respond with aggression instead respond with logical argument.
- Be Respectful when stating your own view or arguing a point.
- If you claim something is fact, prove it with sources. If you can't back up your points seriously, then there is no reason why anyone else should take your argument seriously.
- Posts that appear to be designed to cause argument or irritate rather than contribute to a constructive discussion are considered trolling and will be treated as such.
- If a new thread repeats a topic that has been previously discussed or debated, without basis for a separate discussion, the thread may be closed, removed, or merged into an earlier thread on the same topic. A news report on a previously discussed issue doesn't automatically deserve a new thread. (If you are unsure whether it is acceptable to repeat a previously discussed topic, consider whether a acceptable period of time has passed since the last post. If you are still unsure, drop Mods/Admins a PM and they'll get back to you asap)
Here is some further general advice if you see any trouble-makers/want to avoid being classed as a troublemaker here in the club;
- Members should report posts to Moderators/Admins regarding troublesome posters/posts instead of directly engaging, we can and will deal with it.
- You're responsible for your own behavior. "I was goaded into breaking the rules" is not an excuse. If you think a post is inappropriate, report it, ignore it, and/or respond without breaking the rules.
- Forum members who are constantly seen to be breaking the above rules may be asked to refrain from posting in The Gentlemen's Club, if necessary then we may have to take a case to another Moderator/Admin (The Gentlemen's Club is not responsible for the decisions of these individuals)

Announcement: Statistics Update |

Please be aware that the Directorate has recently reviewed and updated the SMTRP Data Tracker. Areas and population densities for most states have been made available under the Extended tab. If you have a value and it is not crossed out, then there is a 96% probably it is final and may be used. For those that are missing, I'll make an effort to get provide them within the next few days as the first Statistics update will most likely occur within the 1569 year (read: soon).
Additionally, many population and GDPpcs have been modified slightly or largely. Some of the larger changes have been noted with comments, though not all the changes were. There were too many of 'em for the Directorate to bother leaving a comment in each. It may be possible to note the changes by looking at the Directorate Notes, though not all countries were left notes. Regardless, the changes were made in effort to better "harmonize" neighbors in both population density and Gross Domestic Product per capita. If you would like to contest the change, PM Ayzek.
Also, as a note: those of you with distant overseas territories: you are permitted to add these territories to the spreadsheets near the bottom. More accurately: Ayzek will most likely add the name there when he calculates the area. You may preempt him. This is only for those that have coordinated their overseas territories with him. As you can't really get overseas territories without doing so.
Finally, Hadash: additional information (read: official name and capital and largest cities) is missing for your two states. Please provide that information.
PS: Keep in mind that this information [the one in the spreadsheets, which is what the Directorate intends to use for Directorate stuff and things] should all be in one language: OOC English. Please maintain this. As cool as I'm sure your language is, the international community probably knows your capital by it's name in the lingua franca. ICly, this is Lanlian. OOCly, it's English.

In an effort to ensure things stay pretty easy-going around these parts, the forum staff would like for the lot of us to be on the same page concerning how to treat one another. As the forum staff like to think we're all generally mature people (where it /really/ matters, anyway), we can't say it should be much of a challenge for us to remain civil with one another. Or that any of us really have an excuse to be less than friendly.
As things occur to us:
Regarding Cussing
There's not many legitimate excuses to cuss at another person. Cuss words aren't bad in and of themselves—we ourselves throw them around fairly liberally. What is unnecessary, however, is to aim 'em at another person. That's where things get ugly. After all, words at but a tool, and it's the how a person uses 'em that makes a difference.
Consequently, insulting one in anger another will be (is?) frowned upon and may see warnings and/or temporary bans. Though we don't really see calling someone a bitch or telling them to fuck off as much of a joke, we realize that's pretty common among the newer generations (in western societies, anyway...), so we're not inclined to rain justice for it. However, if that's your idea of a joke, just make sure the target has a similar sense of humor as, otherwise, things could get pretty uncomfortable and administrative action may be taken.
Regarding Board Staff
Board Staff should be respected. We're not above the rules or better than regular members simply because we've a shiny title, but we are volunteering to help keep things ticking. Our efforts deserve at least some respect. What does this mean, exactly? That when an admin or mod is telling you to calm down, you should probably concede lest they decide to wield their administrative powers. You should also refrain from lashing out against them. Though, this is really something that should apply to everyone, neh? So...let's do that. Don't attack people for trying to calm you down. Instead, you should give their words an ear, and at least take a few minutes to regain your composure.
Regarding Discontent
Mind, this doesn't mean that you should bend over for your peers, or even the staff. If you really feel offended or disregarded, though, yelling at people isn't really the way to go about improving things. It'd be best to clearly state your position and feelings and try to reach a consensus on how to improve it all. If doing that completely in the open isn't your style, though, you could contact the Chief of Public Relations to help you. The Root Administrator is also an option—especially if your plight is against the Chief of Public Relations—though bear in mind he's usually working on something or other. If the Root Administrator's the one being a douche, you could contact the Chief of Public Relations; and if they're both being intolerable pig dogs, there's the Chief of Logical Reason.
On that note, let's establish a general process on how to get our complaints addressed:
If it is a Role Play issue: contact the Director, via PM. The Director will get back to you as soon as possible.
If it's a general board or personal issue—including an argument with another member: contact the Chief of Public Relations, unless he is part of the issue, in which case contact the Root Administrator. If he is part of the issue, contact either the Chief of Public Relations or the Chief of Logical Reason, in that order.
If you've a suggestion for improving the boards, post here. If it's to improve the community as a whole, post here.
Regarding Spam or Other Malicious Content
Follow the instructions here.
Spam, Bans and Suspensions
Malicious spammers (porn, stupid advertising) will be banned on sight by any enabled staff. General "community spam" (the not-bad kind) should be kept to the The Corner. Posts elsewhere should serve some constructive purpose.
Constantly attack your fellow community members will result in at least a two week's suspension. If it continues consistently, a permanent ban may be issued.
Threats to Leave the Community
Ayzek, at least, will make no effort to stop you.

Welcome to Eternity! I'm assuming you're new, 'cause helping them n00bs (or newbies, if you wanna be politically correct) is the entire point of this guide! So, let's get moving.
Membership
As mentioned in multiple locations by now, Eternity isa role-play community. Not so much pretend-government, but fictional worlds where we can romp around pretending to be things we're not. It's fun, I swear. To participate fully in this community, you needa be considered a Member. To receive those honors, just head on over to this thread and copy+paste+fill the form available in the first post. Pretty easy and, unless we believe you're /really/ a terrorist, you'll likely make it through without much trouble.
Introduction
After you've signed in as something, you must start a thread and introduce yourself in the Twilight's Portal forum. Not only does it give us a place to chat lightly and feel each other out, but it is also required for background stuff to give you full posting privileges.
Following that, you should read over the general Community Etiquette practices and SMTRP Rules.
Chatango
Our community uses a chat system (Chatango) available at the bottom of every forum page. It gives us a place to laugh together, bolstering the camaraderie and uniting us under his Chief Administratorship, Ayzek (may he live forever). It is independent from the forums. You're encouraged to create an account, to save yourself some trouble every time you pop by. This can be done fairly easily by clicking the "Sign up" button in the log in screen that appears after your first attempt to say something or if you press the "Set name" button below the text box.
After making an account and posting something to the chat system, you should click on the text-bubble image under the text-box (see right). That'll take you to your private chat page on Chatango's system. Under Account->Settings you should ensure that "Show my profile in Meet People" is unchecked to ensure you're not messaged by weirdos. I mean stranger weirdos, which are a thing on the Internet. Not everyone is bad, mind, but some people can be pretty odd. This is just advice, however, and you're certainly free to chat with strangers. Just don't blame me.
