Or, the High Messanic Empire. In 1023, at the height of the Avalsyanist Revolution, His Imperial Apostolic Majesty, Kayden II, Archking of the Lanlanians and Emperor of the Messanites, was murdered in his sleep. His cousin, Heinrich Elden, King-Elector of Airstein, took the throne of both the Archkingdom and the Messanic Empire as Heinrich I. A devout and fervent Sentrite, he immediately took a stout anti-Avalsyanist position, greatly expanding the Inquisition and going as far as employing military force to put down or exterminate more determined and organized heresies. In 1026, he was, unexpectedly, elected High King of the Geinish, which only bolstered his resources. Though Oslanburg and Florinthus were lost, the Messanic Empire under the leadership of a united Lanlania-Gehenna managed to suppress the Avalysanist Revolution in Lochland and elsewhere in southern Brigidna.
In light of this success, as well as his Gehennian blood, Heinrich did not reform the Messanic Empire into the Holy Lanlanian Empire; he instead used the Inquisition to centralize both Gehenna and the Messanic Empire by removing his rivals and strengthening a single Messanic identity. Rivals in Gehenna would be stripped of their titles, and be replaced by his relatives—or not replaced at all. This would set the stage for the elimination of the Gehennan elective monarchy in 1204. Elsewhere in the Messanic Empire, he would successfully strength the Lanlanian-Gehennian controlled Sentric Church over local lords, or otherwise reduce the power of independent local leaders.
In 1041, his work would bear fruit with the reformation of the loose Messanic Empire into the more centralized High Messanic Empire, to the cheers of Sentrics throughout southern Brigidna. Those a few would resist, the might of the Lanlanian-Gehennian led empire would make short work of them.
By 1546, the High Messanic Empire is the superpower of Siora, still in control of many of the historical colonies of its constituent nations. Though limited democracy has come to the empire, Imperial control of the Church, and the Church's influence over the people, nonetheless keeps the empire united. Its peoples are devout Sentrics and faithful subjects of His Imperial Apostolic Majesty, the ambitious Frederich II, descendant of Heinrich I. His country firmly behind him, Frederich plans to obvious destiny of the Messanic Empire: the reunion and expansion of the Faith.
He's gonna invade and murder you all, essentially. This is the setting of the alt. Siora RP I'm hoping to play with you all. The HME is gold in the following map, though we can redraw elements of the map to make it things more interesting. But the HME being OP and invading you all is kind of the thing. However, we could nonetheless have an independent Nyland, or expand other countries. Adwest, Ishnalla-Tieguo-Svarnastan. It should be noted that this Oslanburg still controls its parts of its colonies, and it can control more if relevant players (Hoinom, Singan) aren't interested in RPing those countries in this alt. history RP.
So...who's interested in playing, and what ideas to you have for it?
For the record, key reason we're going alt. history is 'cause we're all lame and don't wanna fight with our "real" countries.

The International is the Holy Lanlanian Empire's primary source of foreign news. It provides a comparatively "non-partisan" view of events abroad, compared to that country's own media.

Original thread.
Gudrig chuckled. It was difficult not to; between her barrage of question, Elke had eagerly helped herself to the various foods scattered in front of them. It was quite endearing. "I don't specialize in anything exciting like that," he answered. "I do dabble in omens, on occasions, though I'm primarily here to study at the Kallayadeva Library. I help watch the gates somedays, however.
"I'm consequently not sure how I could help you, considering the scale of your mission." He glanced at Ethelgifr; the lady had been taken aback by the sudden and direct question Elke had asked, though managed to recover enough to field a scowl. "There have been murmurs of a coming infestation within the Inner Halls," he continued. His eyes were still on the lady, as if it were more for her ears than Elke's. "Some are skeptical, though quite a few of my respected peers seem to believe it." Interestingly, Siora had not at any point gathered the Kallayadeva into his chambers and explicitly informed them that an Infestation was imminent.
"One family can't raise an army significant enough to fight an Infestation, however." He focused on Elke again. "Much less without bankrupting itself."
"Indeed," Ethelgifr added, narrowing her eyes at the bubbly girl. She had mixed feelings about the girl, now. On one hand, Elke had interrupted her date with the Professor; on the other hand, how could Ethelgifr dislike someone who enjoyed her baking so? "I'm afraid I can't raise you an army. I could spare some coin to sustain you on your travels, however." She glanced at the Professor, her eyes eager for his approval.
Brrm. Toffer shook again. This time, he reached his feet and turned to stare deeper into the Kallayadeva grounds. He chirruped, drawing attention to the crow that suddenly landed on Elke's shoulder. It cawed and dropped a brown envelope on Elke's lap before quickly flying off. Toffer watched it go, before circling around the blanket and dropping back onto his stomach.
OOC: It's Aveness's letter. There's a note attached to it that tells Elke that she could use to introduce herself to any Kallayadeva-friendly establishment, and get their help, including that other professor at Sidgard's capital.

I'm too lazy to write my own OP, so here's Flo's:
Quote:Most of us play the games, so here we can discuss our playings of them.
Cry, brag, whine, explain, do as you will, but remember, screenshots are nice. Basically, this is where you can show off your empire and tell us how you got there. Do you have a particular goal in mind? Are you going for any achievements? Do you own a horse? Speak of all interesting things!
Later on, you can give us further updates onto what has happened. If you rage quit, what happened to make the situation hopeless?
I'll get started in a little bit!

Andlosheim is a fantasy role play that has its roots in my a wee angsty teenager years. It's something I've loosely developed since then, and is partially inspired a bit by various games, including Civ 4's Fall from Heaven II mod and (apparently) Dragon Age. It's been developed much more since I began posting about it here, though not only by me. Oertha, for one, has helped flesh the rules that make it not-ridiculous.
"Andloshem" is the name of the world that serves as the overall setting. It's a "realm" on a "higher/different plane" of existence than our own universe. Much like said universe, Andlosheim extends pretty seemingly infinitely ("Andlosheim" translates to "endless home"). Except, unlike our universe, Andlosheim is one world, like, one planet, rather than predominantly empty space. Think Minecraft. The place is nonetheless believed to have a center and most key events happen in it's vicinity, because of course.
Various civilizations/factions exist in Andlosheim, most of which don't interact or even know of one another due to the world's sprawling extents. Players can spawn other factions, the size of which depends on the location and the reason—you can spawn a minor one about defined powers in a Sphere to increase your role somewhat, or you could lead the development of a new Sphere if you've got bigger things in mind. Simply discuss it with Ayzek.
At the moment, the centerpiece of the Scene is Sal's Elke Korraidhin in the Sidgardian Sphere. Elke was a generally "normal", studious mage girl before she was dragged into the the god's games. You could pick a character to support or oppose her on her journey—but know that her destiny has been predetermined by the god of fate and is quite unlikely to be changed or stopped.
More information on Andlosheim can be found here, on the wiki.
Spheres
A sphere is a region in Andlosheim, where various role plays can be set. The most developed sphere is the Sidgardian sphere, centered on the High Kingdom of Sidgard. It's where the majority of Andlosheim's historic events took place.
Note that a "sphere" is only the setting. Even within one, role plays can take place at any given in its long history. Various planned role plays (origin tales for the world and key characters) are set well before Elke's adventures.
If you'd like to join a particular sphere, post in it's thread. If you've general queries about Andlosheim, or are interested in developing your own sphere, post in this thread.
